All of those players are liabilities, at least Milan boys were world class once...
Their boys had the advantage of being proven, our boys had the future ahead so it is essentially the same, both clubs gambled.
With the difference Milan added more quality and gambled both with former champions and future stars, like Flamini (2 youngsters and one more young DF coming) and Borriello. They can hardly all fail at the same time, whilst our margin of failure, was much wider...

Roma seem to be weaker indeed, Juan, Riise and Baptista are fine choices, but they also lost a lot...

Milan bought more and better players than us, Fiorentina did better than us, despite having less resources on theory and Inter made some acquisitions and they might still do a couple more, but they had two world class teams anyway...

Comparing our mercato, to theirs, we really got owned and this is what we ought to do,
but our managers cleverly avoid any comparisons and only compare our current team with the ine we had last year, like we are competing with last year's Juve and not with Inter,Milan,Roma and Fiorentina for the titles...
Flamini seems to me like only good aquistion by Milan, I don't say that Ronaldinho is bad, but we all know why Milan brought him (PUBLICITY) and we all know that he is off-form for almost 2 yrs. To judge Milan mercato by Ronaldinho or Sheva transfer is silly, than let's sign Vieri, Crespo, Ljungberg and say how great job Secco did. Milan did a majoe gamble with theese players and I'm almost 100% sure that they will pretty much fail. Borrielo had one good season and now he is already injured and appereantly he is on the market again, and we all know how hard Milan worked to buy him. Now just imagine Secco do that and don't bring Criscito issue here cuz he at least had a chance to play with us and prove himself (ok, in not so good conditions but still...). So, Milan is far from owning us!!!

Roma had Juan last season too, so I won't consider him now. Baptista might be good, but we all know that he failed at Real and Arsenal and he yet need to prove himself and find his form from Seville. That left us tp Riise who is not bad player but not a great one too.

Inter like you said already had two superstar teams so they needed one or two players which they brought and we can say that they had a good mercato but still you forgot how they failed to sign Lampard and how they signed Muntari (mow, again imagine Secco do that). And only stupid person would think that we can reach Inter player potential and all their "superstars" in two-three seasons especially when you consider how much money inter always spent comparing to us.

Only Fiorentina had a good mercato comparing to us, and even that's doubtful since they also lost few important players.

So we aren't owned anywhere and one important thing which everyone seem to forget that we finished above Milan and Fiorentina and that we were better than them (esp. Milan) and that Milan needed way more improvents than us but it seems that they didn't got any.

they are just examples of how stupid secco is
It's not Secco's fault that the players you named couldn't handle the pressure. They couldn't live up the high expectation from the fans. As for Andrade, do you seriously think the lad is happy for being injured twice in a row, leaving him out of football for two years? Oh yeah, lets scream ''FUCK SECCO'' for buying Andrade

I can easily bet that if Juve bought Gilardino, EVERYBODY on the forum would start bashing the board. But if Fiorentina buys Gilardino, it's a good transfer.
It's becuase he's ex coach "prandelli" bought him so he knows exactly how to retain he's form back and yes if we did buy gilardino it won't be such a smart move (its similar to sissoko's case with ranieri). All the other moves were smart moves by fiorentina. our trasfers this summer and last has big question mark on them....

Muntari would have been a better acquisition then Poulson.

In yesterdays suppercopa he was man of the match. He owned De Rossi and Pizzaro in midfield. He tackles well, physically ideal, and is technically better then anyone we have in CM position.

He really turned out to be a great signing and is a left sided CM something the team doesnt naturally possess.

gilardino at juve would have been useless, gilardino at fiorentina with prandelli is genius and he will be a good player for them. It's not only about the player, its finding the right player for your team.

Canna was crap at inter and he was bad business for them, he was amazing for us so it was a good buy as we were the right environment for him. Tiago at lyon was brilliant tiago at juventus was horrible... we were the wrong environment for him.

And its not just about gilardino, fiorentina have bought players to compliment their team and most importantly to strengthen where they were weak. Vargas was a great signing, he's a player of real quality, and I think under the guidance of prandelli almiron will turn out to be a good bit of business for them - again he's wrong for us but will be right for them. Even Zauri is an experienced player who will add stength in depth to the viola

They may not have been spectacular but they have been constructive

:shifty: have you seen felipe melo?!! The guy was absalutely brilliant in the friendlies that fiorentina played so far plus he was chosen as almeria's best player last season (losing Liverani and buying melo was a smart move by la viola). Jovetic is a super talent that i'm sure will suprise everyone in serie A. Vargas was the least impressive player so far (in the friendlies) but we all know that he's a class. So other than losing Ujfalusi i don't c fiorentina had a bad mercato. Diffenately much bitter than us or any other serie A team......
if you hail other non proven players that just make a few good games in pre-season than you got to hail our new starlets like de ceglie, giovinco and co as well !

so it's of no sense hailing other players talent if you only count our mercato as successful when we bring in proven players (instead of talent like melo)

p.s. milan obviously signed senderos on loan ... i hope he does remain in a psychological ill state...

If we were to sign a quality CB in this one week period which i highly doubt so then I am happy we didnt sign Senderos. But then if its not i cant see the logic of not getting him on loan with the option. We were linked to him , he definitely would not do any worse than any of the defenders apart than Chielini from our team, and if he impress we can close the deal. He plays well for Switzerland he isnt as bad as most ppl make after all its a loan deal how bad can it be. But once again our management makes the weirdest of decisions.

I do not think so. Legro and Mellberg, though not world beaters rates higher than Senderos imo.

Then there is this unknown quality of Knezevic in which i can't pass the judgment for now.

Plus Poulsen can play CB, getting Senderos does not really add up to anything.

It was a surprise to me that Milan get him, seems like just a quick fix to their central defensive woes.

Flamini > Poulsen

Ronaldinho+Borrielo > Amauri

Zambro >= Melberg

Sheva > Knezevic

I cant understand what you fail to see and keep in mind than Milan will buy a few more quality defenders.
As i said, their transfer market wasnt perfect, they did risked, but less than us, they took former-world class players and much more than we did.
I cant understand how our mercato can be considered better than theirs.
They bought better and more and you can only assume that they will suck more, when our unproven and worthless players we got can easily be proved flops.
I did not judge their transfer market by Sheva and Ronaldnho alone, these were words put in my mouth to corrupt my arguments.
I never trust hype, on the contrary, if you would know me better, you could tell...

-Juan could be a transfer, as our very own Andrade, but we were not si lucky, ours was an epic fail...
-Baptista is a very good player, he failed nowherem he was proved to be good enough besides world class players, you dont have to be a Real super star player to help this Roma, they inly had one forward in their squad and as you at the derby, Baptista can help them where no one else cans!
-Riise is not a great player??? Then tell me what Molinaro is!!
I wish we g=could get someone, half as good as Riise...

I agree that only a stupid person would consider that we could challenge Inter for any title, but unfortunately, they are plenty of them, their numbers do not only apply within the ranks of our fans only, but even within our managers...
Pathetic excuses were told, to give a false hope to, over confident fans and some room to dream for the dreamers, when the reality is painfully obvious and should not be defied...
