Yes, now we have the substitutes and we only need to make the main team that's all :D

To be honest I'm very optimistic and I'm even considering Secco as a young prospective transfer's manager :D and hope that he will improve his skills in year or two and we will see some serious transfers from him in the near future.

We have had a poor transfer campaign. So much promise from the mangement, but little quality signings made. No world class centre back was signed, no quality fullback was signed, No Creative midfielder signing made. Overall very poor. We will probably be fighting with Roma for 4th place, as both Milan sides & fiorentina have got better quality squads. And the fans can thank Elkann for that.

Roma were so strong last season, and were so close to winning the title. I think Juve have made quite a poor attempt in the transfer market this year, I can understand not bringing in a winger because we have Giovinco but instead we brought Knezevic in which is now injured, and Chiellini injured as well. We should have brought one man, last season we had a terrible injury crises at the back especially since Andrade's career could be over with all the injuries.

Our midfield is decent, at least we got Poulsen and even though not many of us like him he is a good signing and can do well for us, I rather of signed Xabi Alonso but we missed the chance. But for me we have the midfield almost covered, but we lack a lot of creativity there. We have Sissoko who is very strong and can win balls and play a bit attacking, Zanetti the defensive strong one, Poulsen the kind physical but also doing long ball type of player. But we need someone to do what Xabi does.

Upfront we've secured ourselves we already have a strong 3 players Amauri, Iaquinta and Del Piero which will surely be successive this season.

I am still dissappointed though, I hope our staff can re-think about closing our summer transfers and look into buying a quality defender.

i am more worried about roma than milan or fiorentina
Roma 's best chance of winning the scudetto was last season. I highly doubt they will challenge inter this season. They've just sold them Mancini, and Chivu last season. They don't have a 20+ goal season centre forward, they signed Baptista, but he is just a journey man and will hardly get them goals. Floped in Madrid twice, and for Arsenal. They lost Giuly, and have no width. They have a 35 Panucci year old as right fullback.

They have a quality coach in Spalletti, but he has little funds at his disposal, and can only purchase big clubs unwanted players, i.e. Baptista, Malouda, Giuly. They should have sold the club to Soros when he wanted to invest, at least then they could have got better players & would have competed with inter on a level playing field, financially, and not sell them thier best players.
-------
Speaking of Baptista,

We'll Lift The Champions League - Baptista
New Roma signing Julio Baptista believes the Giallorossi can aim for a Scudetto and Champions League double this season.

Baptista arrived from Real Madrid this summer in a €12m deal. The Brazilian has already settled down at Trigoria and he is aiming high.

The Giallorossi have come close to major honours but they have only managed to lift the Coppa Italia in recent years.

However, the 'Beast' believes that all this is about to change.

“If the team works well like they have in the past then we can reach the final,” Baptista told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

“I really believe that we can lift the Champions League at Roma.

“However, we will also be fighting for the Scudetto as well.”

Baptista’s arrival in the Eternal city has seen expectations go through the roof. Confidence and belief is sky high at the Olimpico and fans can’t wait to see Francesco Totti mix his silky skills with the Brazilian’s power and speed.

Roma will clash with Inter on Sunday evening for the Supercoppa Italiana as they attempt to get some revenge on their rivals for missing out on the Scudetto last term.

This is our managements 3rd year in charge and I am yet to get excited over any of our transfers.

You know the feeling when you sign a quality player and you cant wait till the season starts to see them play. (Giovinco aside)

When the Alonso deal looked done and with Giovinco coming back I couldnt wait to see them together but now I cringe every time I hear us linked with a player.

Amauri is something to look forward to, you guys are just being pessimistic. Its not as bleak as your making it seem, we didnt sign any "WC players" and didn't fill our weak links properly, but we have a pretty solid team. Poulsen, giovinco, de ceglie....aren't bad at all.

Know one is being Pessimistic, we are realistic, and realise that our squad is no where near good enough to challenge for major honours i.e. the League & Champions league this season.

I don't understand, how can we be a solid team, when you yourself say we have failed to fill our weak links? please elaborate.

Agree. But Giovinco & De ceglie were our players in the first place. In fact we should have kept both of them, i don't think De ceglie could have done any worse than Molinaro last season, and Giovinco than Tiago or Almiron. I don't think Poulsen was necessary, as we already had 3 holding players, signing a CAM would have been more benefical. Now with probably Tiago leaving, we only have 1 central midfielder which is Marchisio, a player that has never played at the highest level.

But we need someone to do what Xabi does.
get off that band wagon ...

i just can guess what good it feels like for alonso to have so much fans suck on his d*ck ...

where in hell is written that you need someone like xabi alonso to be successful ?
there are a lot of successful teams in the worlds ... how do they manage to win trophies without someone like xabi ? the only topclub that comes into my mind that has a similar player in that position is milan ... but hey, they got pirlo ... a somehow better version of xabi ... an alonso + assists and + goals !

liverpool did manage to win even without alonso, so it can't be the recipe for success having alonso in your team.

i think our transfer campaign was ok so far.
noone from the board said we would bring in some creative midfielder ... they only said they would bring one quality player for every department and that is exactly what we got.

i think the board chose the wise way in not spending to much money, if it is not really sure if we are in the champions league ...

the money we safe now can easily be used next season with us back on the european scene to get 2 players, while the same money would only get us one star player because we would have to convince him by money to join our project.

??
ask everyone, we will win everything this year

;)
Ok.... then We will win everything, eventhough we have Molinaro as our LB, eventhough Chiellini is out for the first month and the board see no reason to sign a defender, eventhough we will start with two holding midfielders nearly every game this season, we'll win everything, as all this means nothing;)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. We got one quality player for each department:lol: Who was the quality signing for defence then? Knezevic? Melberg? who was the quality addition in midfield? a primeva player in Edkhal? or was it Poulsen? who will enable use to play with two defensive midfielders. The only quality signing made was Amauri. The board are not intrested in quality, why do you think they've spent a total of 10million euros on our defence & midfield combined in this market. Eventhough everyone knows that our defence & midfield are our two most weakest areas. Even non CL clubs like Tottenham have spent more on real quality players like Modric & dos santos.

ranieri wanted two players for each position, so we needed to add one player to every department... if you are not blind you can clearly see that we added a player to every department:

goal: manninger
defense: knezevic & mellberg
midfield: poulsen & ekdal
attack: amauri

you can chose who you think is the quality player here but you can not deny the quality and experience mellberg and poulsen bring.

if you compare our squad from now with the squad from the same time last year, then we got a much more complete and strong team now. don't forget that sissoko is also a "new" player and was not part of the squad at the beginning of the last season.

We added ten (yes 10) players to our squad. Do you think it is that easy for a coach to integrate so many players ?
Our team worked pretty well last term, so there are only little changes to be made to gain the extra point here and there to claim the scudetto.

Name a club that did add more players to their current squad than us !
It is totally clear that you can't buy 10 starters/champions, but the thing we lacked most last season was depth .. and that was the reason why nocerino had to play out of position so many times and we all know that molinaro taught nocerino how to cross ;)
