We didn't need VDV. We have Giovinco who has more talent and skills than VDV.

IMO VDV is overrated.
I absolutely agree. VDV is and was never needed. He plays behind the strikers and he can absolutely not defend.
He would had to compete with Camo, Nedved, Giovinco and Marchionni for a starting shirt. We are set, when it comes to offensive midfielders.
Maybe a Midfielder who can take more positions, like Stankovic, is what we are searching for. I personally would like us to buy something for the fullback position. Doesn't matter if right or left. We are playing over the flanks, but our material there is not yet good enough to win a trophy on top level.

In your opinion.

I also remember that in the end of last season Juve Managers promised to buy some top stars in this summer transfer campaign so where is at least one star? maybe it's Poulsen or Knezevic or should we still wait for?

if you want to argue this way, ok ...

are we talking about the same van der vaart who played for german side hamburger sv, that achieved seventh place in 2007, fourth place in 2008 in the german bundesliga (a league not on the level of serie a and the other big european leagues) ?

van der vaart has a got good statistics scored a good amount of goals and provided not just a few assists .... still he is just a player that was in a team that had no other stars in that department so he was assured a place in the first eleven when fit.

if empoli did not have such morons as coaches, than giovinco would have much better statistics for last season. i still don't know why giovinco did not play much under Cagni...

i do not want to say that giovinco is superior to vdv, but taking their age into account there is not much of an quality difference there ... for sure giovinco is the better dribbler, where vdv has a good shoot with his strong left foot.

Gio can help us alot in the league this season (don't know about europe). I've watched almost all of he's games last season with empoli and am absalutely convinced that he's bitter than the majority of our current players. But still i think that we need other creative players in the team........
