7 for me. they look tight. they would have done better with a LB and a creative MC.
not sure are they making any move for a DC.
decent, but not impressive mercato.

actually i would love a MC like ballack :D

how the fuck can anyone give our campaign so far more than a 6; not one automatic /direct impact player added, no shrewd dealings, not one "wow" to speak of. It's one thing to be optimistic it's another to be objective. The way it looks now our best deal was selling nocerino.

Can someone remind me, when were and who were the world-class signings of Juve?

I have impression that Juve builds world-class players (and sell them) instead of buying them.

I gave 7 because I like the idea to have strong DM (Poulsen and Sissoko). I expect a lot from Melberg. He is very solid at the back, but we will see how he will adopt. Legro can back up him or Chielini. The only "problem" I see is the backup of Camoranesi. It was obvious that last year we did bad only when he was out of play.

I liked Tiago last year and I think he was not given enough playing time to show his quality. He is one year more experienced now and I know he do well.

The youngsters MUST make some impact as well. Giovinco, Ekdal, Marchisio...

I wanted Criscito to stay, now that we don't have Andrade, he could have been usefull...

And I too hope that we'll get some (nice) surprise by the end of the transfer campaign.

Our priorities was a top Midfieldeder and top CB and we didn't bought one of them. And not selling Giovinco and Marchisio and De Caglie was atleast something. Why not 4? for keeping Iaquinta!

Good poll Mark!

We are bound to repeat the same mistakes and face the same problems we did last year.
We did not strengthen our team were we hurt the most.
Our team is bigger now, but it is not better.
We will not only compete in more competitions, but we will compete in much harder competitions.
Our direct opponents were stronger and they now strengthened their team even more,
the gap between us has grown, we will do worse than we did last year!

Our defense will be tragic once again, our left wing extremely weak, there is only one player who can defend in the entire wing and thats Neddy,
i am afraid he wont be able to do the trick for us anymore.
If Camo gets injured again we will use another DM to replace him, just like we did with Nocerino last year.
We have plenty+fine DM choices and we are bound to use them a lot, but they will bring zero creativity and add nothing new, we will be forced to rely on Molinaro's brilliant/desperate crosses again,
we will expect from Amauri, the man who absorved most of our transfer budget to repeat what DP did last years.
To single handed beat all the odds, make his own chances and finish them.
If Amauri proves to be Godly enough, both domestically and at his debut in CL,
then we might stand a chance, if he chokes as many other unproven players did, then we are undone.
Once again we choose to gamble, once again we choose to bet against the odds.
Once again we are trying to couch big shooting blanks.
Like every average/small team, we hope that we will win a title with cheap/free/average/mediocre players!

Our biggest success was the return of our most promising material,
but i suspect that we only reached that judging by other team's rating, interest on them and external pressure, rather than our seer will...we almost got rid of them for nothing.

Our greatest weapon will be our enhanced teamwork and if we use the trident often enough we will rank in a CL position.

With the same money we could have done much better,
our owners ought to keep their promise and help Juve at her most difficult time in her history, we needed just a few more million to sign a couple of world class players.
Players that would help us build a strong team for this season and the future.
Now we have undermined our future.
To build a strong squad now we need much more investments, since we are full of junk that must be replaced first.
Our 5 year plan has been compromised, another consecutive disastrous transfer season is upon us, we can only hope that our opponents will be as bad as they were the last season,
our fate is on their hands...
I agree 100 per cent. If there was 1 I would have given 1. The gap between the big teams has widened very much.

i would've liked it if Marchionni was sent out on loan or sold, and we got a replacement for him.

even though we got Mellberg on a free, i still dont feel that our defence is capable of handling biggers teams both in Italy and Europe! only time will tell... like cronios said, if Camo gets injured again, then we'll be in big trouble!

unless CR works magic with this team, im quite scared we might not do well!

i would rate it 7, but ill still wait till the end of August!

Let's not forget that no important player left us, so there has been little need for a big name signing. Objectively the management did a good job by adding more quality to the bench, which was our main weakness last season. We now have two decent players for every position on the field ...

... except a LB of course. It's quite shocking to have Molinaro as the starting LB for a team that is supposed to challenge for the Scudetto and the CL. Why we didn't push for players like Vargas or Grosso is beyond me.

Then there is the traditional question of our creativity-lacking midfield. Xabi Alonso would have been the solution in many people's minds, but it seems the sale was too complicated and we preferred to go for Poulsen. Not exactly the same type of player... I don't blame the Blanc or Secco for not buying Xabi, it's pretty obvious they did everything they could and were inches away of getting him, but Liverpool wouldn't sell before signing a replacement and this situation could've lasted until september. Still, Poulsen is a rather bizarre choice as he has a completely different profile than the likes of Alonso and Aquilani. I'm convinced Poulsen will do good, though.

Amauri is a great addition to our attack. IMO Ranieri will be able to field a 433 more often than last year, but our basic formation will (rightfully?) stay a 442.

All in all I'd give a 6,5. Just above average, I'm in a good mood so I'll make this a 7

I
Again Nedved + thuram + buffon all were WC players before moving to juve, they've cost us a fortune. U're probably the 3rd guy in this forum who asks the same question!!

i gave it 6, looking at it that we have a very low budget. it was expected that we don't spend big. we kept our youngsters. and look at the bright side we have secco incharge of transfers and we still got quality players. next year we will do better having much more money

ever heard of the name de ceglie?

If Camo gets injured again we will use another DM to replace him, just like we did with Nocerino last year.
Oh ... perhaps you didn't know ... we did not sell marchionni, so he was the man to be a sub for camo (and when marco is fit he is quite a good sub).
i agree he is injuried often, but that is not something you expect or calculate when you make your moves on the transfermarket ... either you sell a injury-prone player and get a new one or you have to stick with him ... and do not bring someone new for this position

We have plenty+fine DM choices and we are bound to use them a lot, but they will bring zero creativity and add nothing new, we will be forced to rely on
oh well, so we should have bought alonso instead of poulsen ?
what would be the outcame. we gave away nearly double the money. we would perhaps score more goals (that is what YOU guy think, not my opinion).

hey, we had the best attack ... so that is really our weak point. bring in a creative player to strengthen the "attack"

we would be weaker when the opponent has the ball, because alonso is way weaker than poulsen, when we need to regain possesion.

and guess what ... most goals against us were because the opponent had the ball
so alonso would no way help us to get more goals against us (and THAT was a weak spot last season).

Molinaro's brilliant/desperate crosses again,
we will expect from Amauri, the man who absorved most of our transfer budget to repeat what DP did last years.
To single handed beat all the odds, make his own chances and finish them.
so what left backs were on the market ?

i can name you one ... Vargas ... but here this player is surely not known for his defensive skills, so that would probably do not help us in this weak spot.

waiting for de ceglie is not wrong, because with i.e. vargas we would have a stronger attack (remember that is NOT our weak spot) but just a slightly stronger defense ...

seeing that one can't be worse defensive than molinaro i guess de ceglie would do the job defensivle as good as vargas could ... so why spend money if we can get a better defense for free ?

With the same money we could have done much better,
our owners ought to keep their promise and help Juve at her most difficult time in her history, we needed just a few more million to sign a couple of world class players.
you could have applied for the sporting director job in juve, but guess what ...
talking like a smart ass and telling the world who we should buy and how easy it is to aquire players is not going to get you that kind of job.

there are pretty many reasons why secco has his job and not any of our board members here.

it seems like the drunk football fans in the stadium that always know better than the coach .... no THEY DON'T
