Positives:
Players were trying good combination plays (which didn't really work out).
Pressing was good, crosses were decent. Rabiot was excellent till the handball.
Negatives:
We look really out of shape when we lose the ball. 4-4-2 is the wrong way to go with these players.
Passing has been really sloppy.
Not controlling the tempo of the game- no way we should've conceded the second goal so late in the half, especially in the manner that we did.

We've obviously got loads to work on in terms of cohesion, systems, everything. Samp might have fooled us but this is being built from the ground up. Let's just hope that the experimentation doesn't last too long, because there are prepared teams in this league.

so lessons for pirlo from the last 45 mins:
Cuadrado is not a LWB
Morata hasn’t hand enough time training
We cannot be as aggressive against good opponents away as we were with samp at home
our defence needs some intensive training about positioning

He played like that in the last match, too, except that it's seemingly his job to press every ball, not that he's doing it for fun.

He's been nowhere even close to getting the ball back though, tackling from the wrong side, leaving huge gaps in front of the defence, passing behind players, his pass speed has been so slow, passing to the opposition, not spotting good opportunities to play a forward pass.

Maybe he is being asked to press like a headless chicken. If so that is on Pirlo. The rest of the mistakes are basic though.
