since I never built a server before I'd like to ask :

1. does it actually requires top of the line CPUs? are you sure the old i7 not good enough anymore?
2. does it need such huge storage capacity? does the database size that big?

    1. Yes it'll help a lot with the new CPU, 6 cores instead of 4.

    2. We have around 200 gb free space on this server so the extra space will be nice. Remember the harddrives are mirrored.

    1. hah really...? I thought I/O speed is much more mattered for server?
    2. really? how come forum take up so much data space? aren't they like 90% text?

    Server migration in process, the server will be slow from time to time for the next few hours (lots of data to backup and transfer)
