theres no behind the scenes, unless you think schalke and their representatives are straight up lying

a person whos trying to get the best deal possible for their team? i wouldnt expect anything less, also people dont get in business to reward good manners and character, thats called charity
There's always behind the scenes and its proved every transfer window. I think he treated Schalke like they deserved and gave them an offer that's really now much Draxler is worth. Schalke might not be lying but Marotta didn't spend his whole summer on Draxler its obious we are trying for another targets in meantime.

The mercato has been depressing/disappointing for me thus far. I might change my tone in 2 weeks or so, depending on the final outcome :D
You're lucky X is making me be diplomatic today :D

Looks like Donsah might be coming in. 19 year old midfielder from Cagliari...MOST probably for reinforcements since we lost a WC winner to injury :D

My statement forces you to be diplomatic. I didn't say anything unbecoming or untruthful. The way I see it, we invested in 2 players with high potential, a decent striker, a giant oaf, and an injury prone former world class player.

I know you didn't, but we have that kind of relationship where we tend to pick on one another.

As for the rest, we will still add some more players I think.

but were not losing out. we dont need him that desperately that we should go out overpaying for him. if our latest offers i heard here are true (15+15 or 18+10), and they still dont want to accept, fuck them. at best, we could increase the base fee at the expense of bonuses making it something like 22+8 or 25+5 etc. but ~30M is good enough for him
The thing is if we don't sign Draxler who else is there? in effect we will have severely weakened our team by selling Vidal and not even using that money in buying someone that will improve the team systematically - and before you or anyone says it please don't use the "but we have pereyra" statement.

At this stage of the transfer window the premium for players is only going to go up as clubs begin to get 'desperate' and given the timing of Vidal leaving, the club has to take this in account.

From Allegri's point of view he needs an AM it is evident that he wants one as he can't trust pogba or dybala to do a job there. The least this club can do is meet allegri's demands and considering his achievements so far he has every right to make demands just as Conte did.

Are you ok with anyone arriving as long as they arrive?

Or let me ask you in another way, would you justify whichever signing we make just that your position remains intact?
I wouldn't complain if we signed FV. He isn't my first choice by a long shot but you won't see me complaining but I am sure I know where you would stand.

Sneijder? would that be a good purchase too?

What about Diamanti? Would you be fine with him coming?

Diamanti? When did you turn into Badass?

I will wait 6 months or a full season before I pass judgement on a player. I will wait until I see how they perform before judging. Will you? I presume by your tone of questioning you already know they will play poorly.

Not really, I won't assume anything. I will not be delighted by any of these signings for sure but it does not mean I will be passing judgement on how they will perform. I was not happy at all with Pereyra last season but he proved me wrong.

Draxler might be the only target right now, but the transfer window is still going on. honestly, i wont be worried even if we dont get no one, but an opportunity might come in the final days of the mercato. City, Chelsea, United, PSG... they are still on the market looking for reinforcements, and thus some of their players like Mata, Nasri, Cuadrado, Lavezzi etc. might become available. certainly not ideal, but as temporary solutions some of these guys might be good enough, especially since we are getting Berardi next summer. and who knows what opporutinites might come next summer after the EURO, im sure a lot of players will be changing clubs and Marotta will have his fingers in many of these deals.

so as i said, it certainly is no disaster if Draxler doesent come, we are good enough without him too so i wont be worried even if no one else comes this summer
