Ok, let's put it this way, Draxler really does have the potential, i won't argue there, but A German, at 21 years old, coming off an injury season, that will cost around 30Mil, is a very big gamble, he doesnt speak the language, will only have Khedira who may not start for us week in week out to help adapt, all I am saying is, I would love it if Juve just went ahead and spend the money on Isco, because he is the better player, less risk, will not have problems with communication, already has a good friend who is our main striker!

Or, Juve being Juve go with the safe option with a cheap but very reliable purchase ala Evra/Tevez, and I see Cazorla as that buy, of course he won't have that high of a resale value, but I think with him and potentially a very good LB, we can guarantee Scudetto and Semi Final CL, I just don't see any other AM available, Hamsik is the other, but he may prove to be too difficult.
Only problem is Isco would cost at least 50m. Just like Draxler would if he wasn't injured. We might be able to get him for about 25m - 28m only because of that. I don't see the point in complaining about his price tag because of his former injuries when we already know his current price is due to those injuries. It's a gamble alright but a gamble well worth taking if you ask me, even for 30m.

A gamble you shouldn't be taking after losing Tevez, Pirlo AND selling Vidal. This move would've perhaps been more justified if Vidal wasn't sold. This is more an 'opportunity' which would've existed anyway, rather than a statement of intent after selling Arturo, and that's where I disagree.

except Zaza is 24 and has a resale value. Vidal will not be sold again after his contract with bayren. Even if Zaza fails to impress he can be sold for about 10m easly in a couple of years. Besides, lets give the guy a chance, I think he will prove very usefull.
Pfft, the guy blows. Zaza will suck here and be useless, and we'll sell him one or two years down the road for like 5 million. He's Marotta's sequel to Jorge Martinez.

 So a soon to be 31 year old Santi Cazorla, who has been largely anonymous and inconsistent since 2012 is not a gamble
First of all, he was absolutely fantastic last season as CM, since 2012 is just weird, you seriously need to watch him more. He wouldnt be first choice, but defenitely would not be a gamble, you know exactly what you get, a very reliable creative AM who is exceptionally skilled at close spaces and creating for others. If we cant get Draxler or other top long term young choices, trust me when I say we can NOT ask for better, would be lucky if we could get Cazorla.

Dybala made sense because there are not many players similar to Tevez in terms of style. Yeah he's a gamble but because of how much we paid for him, not potential/talent wise. He'll do well here, maybe not 40m well but still :)
While Dybala had a very good last season Draxler was injured for most of it and we don't know if the injury won't stop his development. Besides he's no AM to me; He's no passer/assist man and that's what we need from our AM since we lost Pirlo.
Other than that I think you'd agree with me if I say it's enough to have one huge gamble :p We've brought quite many young players recently and lost very experienced ones. Attack looks very inexperienced and a proper AM could make up for it to lead the line. Mandzukic is a very good buy buy he's no creator; if the kids don't produce anything he won't do it on his own.
Draxler is a natural CAM. He's known for his finishing abilities but has great passing abilities as well as vision. What you need from a CAM is creativity, but i'd rather have a CAM who can score goals as well, over one who can't. I'd pick James over Özil/Isco any day because the latter simply can't score goals. James is incredible because he's an amazing finisher as well - this is a trait i see in Draxler and for this reason, Draxler has potential to become a top 3 CAM.

Marotta went to Heldt with a €15m + bonusses offer.

Schalke value Draxler at €30m and so the offer was 50% of what was desired.

Beppe walked away and Heldt considers the negotiations closed.

Both GDM and Tuttomercato report we're in for a new bid.

If we raise our offer to ~22-25m there could be new negotiations.

Not over just yet, IMO.

Of course it's not over yet and a lot of sources confirm it. Hard to predict if we purchase Draxler in the end but we are bound to make a new bid.

Fair. The main reason why people want it closed is because they've already talked it to death and are frustrated with the pace of new information.
