I have news concerning Hellas Verona's project. The project, which has been approved by the mayor of the city under certain conditions(there will be no commercial centers anymore) will now cost 200 million euros rather than the initial 400 million because of the removal of the commercial center which would have reshaped the whole neighbourhood. The new stadium will be built within two years and should be ready for the 2013-2014 season.

This is great as Hellas Verona will probably be in Serie A next season(they are currently second in Serie B) and it would be nice to see such a modern and wonderful stadium in Serie A by then.

Whats the gurantee for that ?

Didn't we miss on European football for 2 seasons in a row and they're playing at this very moment in the CL and are through to the second round !
And that's their fault? We are to blame and Printer, because they used underhanded tactics.

    nobody valua's their titles

if we ever win 5 scudetto's in a row, i want people to be amazed, cause we won on equal advantage, and won regardless

That's good news. They should do something about the third tier, they should remove it totally imo and bring down the capacity to 60-65k. The stadium also needs a new roof.

They should have seats of the same color all over the stadium.

Have you been to San Siro? The third tier and the sheer size of the thing are all positive elements from an experience standpoint. Granted both teams rarely sell out nowadays but it'd be so strange without it, and the roof could be remade, but I'd prefer it in the same pattern as it is now!

I think the stadiums seats should be red for all area 'blu', blue for all area 'verde' and then black for areas 'rosso' and 'arancia'. That would look brilliant.

I have never been there but for the roof, I have read several times that it is because of the roof that your pitch is so bad because the shadows are all messed up. On the third tier, it should be removed imo as the capacity should be reduced to 60-65k. The San Siro is full like what, 5-6 times a season? It usually is half empty.

60-65k is a much more realistic capacity.

"The club has been engaged in a legal battle with local authorities over the planned renovation works to the stadium that never actually began.

After a series of appeals, Cagliari have finally been told that their arena cannot be used without that maintenance work.

Now the Sardinians and President Massimo Cellino have a race against time to get the building crews in or find another stadium to play their home games in."

Some of these Serie A clubs are such bush league, two bit, unorganised pieces of crap. This looks so unprofessional for the league and further validates my point that we will barely see any new stadiums built in Italy for a long time.

    from football italia:

Siena President Massimo Mezzaroma believes that outdated stadiums are to blame for the number of postponements to have hit Serie A this midweek.

Three games have been called off due to the snow and ice sweeping across the north of the country. With Siena’s home match against Catania one of those affected, Mezzaroma took the opportunity to pinpoint where he believes the failing lies.

“The postponements? Most of the problems do not apply to the turf, because you can resolve those with tarpaulin,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli. “It is with the stands.”

“The discussion surrounds infrastructure. In Siena, the game was postponed as public policy, for the safety of the spectators.

“The real problems are the stands. If we had played then the field would have been ok, but at nine degrees below zero, the stands would have been frozen, and this would have been a danger to everyone.

“In a world where there are little chairs with heating systems, we as Presidents are fed up. We must encourage the construction of new facilities as a motion to restore the national economy.

“In addition, there is the question of the calendar - the case might be to break the taboo of the winter break. At that time, working with intelligence with regards scheduling the games, many fields will be safe to play on.”

Something has to be done, every year them shithole stadiums get more decrepit, I've been in Siena's, Atalanta's, Genoa's, Roma/Lazio, Fiorentina's and Milan/Inter stadiums and the only half decent one's are San Siro & the Marassi, Olympico needs the track taken away from it. About time the government passed this fucking law to help clubs.

I'm not 100% sure if im correct but I think the short and long of it is that the law is for the Italian government to give the clubs money to build/renovate new stadia, its been in red tape for a few good years now, knowing how slow the italian government passes laws (unless your Berlusconi who makes law's to help himself), it will still take years for the law to pass.
