Bologna President Alfredo Cazzola has called for action to be taken against referee Domenico Messina after last night’s 1-0 loss to Juventus.
The Emiliani were defeated at the Stadio Dall’Ara thanks to a phantom goal by Marcelo Zalayeta, who also seemed to handle the ball in the build up, and the Bologna chief believes it is now time for things to change.
“Stefano Tedeschi [the referee designator] must make himself heard and I expect him to take action in the next few hours,” said an infuriated Cazzola on Wednesday morning.
“I think we need a clear and firm intervention, we cannot accept this kind of situation as simple human error.
“Those who make these mistakes must not referee any more, or should at least be sidelined for a long time,” added the official.
“If any of us make a mistake we pay. We cannot allow what we are doing this year to be wasted by a referee who is unable to do his job.
“We are trying to create a new sense of trust around the team and this must continue.
“We will try to remain focused, we have a strong side who proved this on the pitch and we must not let this episode distract us. Serie A remains our objective,” concluded Cazzola.
Juve President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli accepted that his side were favoured, but insists that hasn’t always been the case this season.
“These incidents can always occur, sometimes favouring us and sometimes our opponents. I want to try to maintain a balanced attitude, even if we won an important match,” he stated.
“This is the same behaviour that I have always tried to keep, even when we were clearly penalised by similar situations in the past.”
ah shut up bologna quit ur bitchin', sounds like sour grapes to me. if bologna lost to sum1 else they wud of accepted it, its cuz we iz juve.
