This rule is part of their initiative to promote more Italians into the game. But what they really should do is ensure clubs have a training academy, stadium and proper channel for the kids to get competitive matches like Real Castilla , Madrid's second team. This rule alone isn't enough if clubs eventually have to play crappy Italians just because they need to adhere to the rule.

Salary 2014

Including bonuses Tevez and Vidal make about 5,5 Mio. EUR net p.a. - that was reported in various media back then.

i think its a good thing that wages fall in serie a. serie a shrinks to get healthy again. especially at Milan and inter there were so many players rankly overpaid. it was a shame. 4,5 mio. EUR net for guys like flamini is just laughable.

Still, the rule is pretty harsh. I'd start with 2/3 Italians starting, especially in injury or suspension crisis a stricter rule could cause problems for practically every team.

This rule is a throwback to the late 70s and early 80s when Italian teams were only allowed 3 foreigners per club side. Hence, why we had to sell Brady to acquire Platini and Boniek.

Isn't it in breach of EU regulations, and the laws on free movement of labor tho? :boh:

Mexes (4) and Borriello (3.5) second highest paid players in their teams, lol...

It's crazy how much De Rossi earns.

Oh and I'm glad Evra is on 2.5mln, I thought it was 3.5

    What a bull$#@! rule.

I hope Italy fails to qualify for EC2016.
If they do, thatll only give them more reasons for extending it from 4 to 5 players. Or justify having this rule.

Id rather hope they do well so they dont have to complain but yeah what a shit rule... at this rate wont be long before seria A will only have two spots for champions league
