ok lemme break it down to you, DP cannot be the man, he cant take the pressure for the team and get you a trophy and anytime he was put there he failed miserably. Riquelme on the other hand was the MAN even named MVP of the competition in the last Copa Lib he won. and to give you more significnace of what is say, argentina never lost a game where he scored, and a very high percentage when it comes to boca as well.
Ouch, someone is angry. Sell this somewhere else, to Boca fans maybe.

Well put facts btw.

Wrong. In 97-98 when we lost the final to Real he had an excellent tournament and scored 10 goals, he was our main man even though we had also Zizou. In 96-97 when we lost the final to Dortmund, he only played 6 games (overall) and scored 4 (one was in the final).
How can he be wrong when he also said that in 1998 DP was our main man in the tournament and was supposed to be our main man in the final? :D

I was wrong, not Deneb.

:shifty:

i will forgive you for 2002, as for DP, which is the only reason you commented on this, is a notorious "choker"(cant deal with the pressure of being the go to guy), all the "important" goals you mentioned were actually not important at all the CL final we lost 3-1, he was supposed to be the man.

Seriously, who is Riquelme? What's his history? Achievements? Records? Trophies? Rated by which coaches and world class players? What marks he left behind him? What marks he's leaving right now?

Who is Riquelme?

i too am a DP fan believe it or not :D i just can take the good with the bad
I remember it in my distant memories :D

I never said Del Piero hasn't let the fans down when it mattered in big games but he's still scored too many important goals at tense games when it actually really mattered. His stats speak for themselves. For the Azzurri though, as I also said, he has never been the player he is/was for Juve. It's of course a weak point for any player even though there are several players like that but in Ale's case, I don't honestly know where the problem comes from as he has always been enthusiastic to play for the NT. Something could be mentally wrong with him when it comes to international games I believe. But to say that Riquelme is not a choker, bringing those stats as a proof while at the same time mentioning Ale's name as a master of choking is paradoxical.

ok not master then :D the whole "choker" concept is flawed, players have lives outside of football and that obviously affects their psyche and mental strength. I think Ale was rushed into the game too fast as funny as that sounds, had he played under baggio for a couple of years would have taken a lot of the pressure and taught him much then.

In a world where Roanldo and Zlatan are considered chokers, you might as well conclude that it's a praising term.

He handled the pressure of being Baggio's heir very well in his youth. He couldn't handle the pressure of the media and the fans to become the same player he was before that horrific injury though.
