Costacurta was a part of the Milan for which Berlusconi was spending millions. Replacing players every year doesn't nullify the fact that they're trying to form a family like of club which is the main reason for their failure IMO. They just can't get rid of their aging players. They had to keep playing their veterans such as Maldini, Costacurta, Albertini even at the times they were out of form. I don't know what's so good about being "a family" when it's the exact meaning of being unprofessional.
Albertini was 30 or 31 when he left Milan. He doesn't belong to the "family" story.

Costacurta is similar to Maldini. Club legend. Take Buffon and Del Piero for a comparison. We'll never tell these guys to leave or retire until they decide to do it.
Costacurta was a bench player for almost a decade. They had Maldini, Nesta, Stam, Roque Junior, Laursen, Kaladze etc playing as starters. Maldini is their Del Piero.

Even the Milan fans hate the "we're family" thing because they also think it's just an excuse for the awful mercato they're having in the last years. They can't replace the old players with better players so they say that they're doing it because they are a family and they trust the veterans and they owe them a lot.
Yeah, right.

    Del Piero hails legend Maldini

    Saturday 23 May, 2009

As Paolo Maldini prepares to retire, Alessandro Del Piero gives him the ultimate compliment. “He is greater than Franco Baresi.”

The Milan legend will hang up his boots at the end of the season and Sunday’s game with Roma will be his last at San Siro.

Tributes to his career are pouring in and Juventus star Del Piero joined the chorus by phoning in as Maldini was interviewed on Milan Channel.

“You are the number one! There are great players and there are world class players. Then there are those who manage to go beyond that term. Paolo is the perfect example.”

Del Piero pushed the boat out with the ultimate compliment for a player in the Rossoneri jersey.

“Maldini is the symbol of Milan and has done even more than Baresi and all the other greats who preceded him.

“He has reached incredible heights in his career and at the same time managed to become a unique presence in his team, in Italian football and on the international stage.”

Sheva started the first 2-3 matches this season.
Berlusconi wanted a ballon d'or trio in the starting XI. Kaka, Ronaldinho, Sheva.
They brought him back because they are attention whores. Just like that spectacle they created with Ronaldinho when he was introduced to the fans. Only after they realized that Sheva won't be their savior he started warming the bench.

They are such a fake team.
Words of wisdom. They're a bunch of pretentious metros.

Just listen to Ferrara when asked about his friendship with DP and how it would affect their work, he could've said all that Milanesque bullshit about family and friendship, but he spoke like a real man: "Friendship is one thing, professionalism is another".

Now this is keeping it real.

You can call Milan anything, but the only fake team in this world is Inter and no one else.
Inter are fake champs, but Milan are fake in everything.

They're as fake as Cambiasso's hair.

Cambiasso's hair isn't fake though. But Berlusconi's hair is.

so, one of two live witnesses of Battle of Kadesh is retiring from football:cry:

    we will never forget him
    :lol2: :lol2:

after serving Egyptian Army under the command of Ramesses II, he swimmed from Alexandria to Sicily. He lived there for a long, long time. After his heroic achievements in WWII he has been honoured with a nick name ''Super Mario'' and Italien Citizenship.
    :lol2: :lol2:

That's not really a meaningful comparison though. Guys like Moratti probably earn peanuts "officially", meanwhile they have massive holdings and interesting revenue streams from shell companies and what have you.

Meanwhile Blanc gets a real salary, he's not a magnate.
