CL spot, YOU prefer?

  • Inter, I want the best thing for this league and Juve

  • Bayern, I can't support Inter and I want them to "choke"

  • I hate Inter. Stolen Scudetti, not a single Italian player, and I'll support anyone that plays again

  • You mean the Champions League has still been going on since December?

Let's be honest. The Champions League is just a huge money making tool for UEFA and has been for years. Why else have they gradually been allowing more teams to enter. The Champions League was once for nothing but the Champions of their league to fight it out to see who was the champion of champions. Who cares if they only let 3 teams from Italy join, only one can win anyway? Are we that shallow that having 4 teams in the CL instead of 3 will make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Therefore fuck inter and everything they stand for.
More or less,.

To still call it the Champions League, when the 4th placed team in a league can win it, is a joke.

lets see...

1. Blanc come out and say they're supporting inter, and stress how crucial the 4th spot is.

http://www.innopress.co.uk/2010/05/...orting-inter-milan-in-champions-league-final/

2. ac milans Gallaiani comes out and says the same

3. Footballitalia stresses the importance of supporting inter

http://football-italia.net/apr30n.html

4. some juve fans living in la la land, and care more about "how the inter milan fans might react", rather than the costly amount of money, players we could potentially lose.
Just because Mr. Roland Garros, Uncle Fester, and a website that prides itself on plagiarizing articles adhere to that notion, doesn't necessarily imply that we must conform to it

I am sure if Juve were in a similar situation and Inter fans were called upon to support us, they wouldn't hesitate in supporting our opponents.

I'm not sure if you know this, but the world does not revolve around Europe. Crappy timetables for you are good timetables in another part of the world.
Obviously. I wouldn't even mention it, let alone complain, if the tournament was being held in the Usa for example.
But afaik, 13h30 in South Africa is 13h30 for me. And I really don't understand why they would play their first game at 13h30 on regular weekdays.

Also, i will say this again, the world does not revolve around Europe. You don't have to make it in Europe to be a good player.
But you do have to make it in Europe to be considered a truly good or great player. Whether that is fair or not is up for debate, but you simply can't deny it.

Like I said, fuck Inter and good for Italian football, Inter winning Cl won't change anything, except delay inevitable and probably worsen it. So if everyone even think about the good for Italy he should cheer for Bayern.

Still no matter even if Inter winning it could really help, I hope they crash and burn. And why I would cheer for good of Italian football, the same FIGC that demoted us to Serie B

And is that a new "fact" or one that has been going since the start of professional football and world cup for that matter?

I think it is because of the weather? Probably this time is the most optimal weather wise, not too hot or something like that I think.

A new fact. I discovered it this morning while eating breakfast. Quite a revelation, I must say.

Could be, but there are also games at 16h00 & 20h30, so I'm not sure if that has a lot do with it.

Then I must congratulate you on that, you just denied Pele being a legend and a great footballer too. Exceptional :juventus:

I was under the impression that the discussion being held on the previous pages was about current football & current players. Unless I overlooked it, not a single mention towards bygone eras was made. Hence, I did not feel the need to specify that I was also talking about today's football world.

How exactly is it a dumb fact? And if it is a dumb fact, does that make it any less true?

And please, do remember that you, completely out of the blue, felt it was necessary to start talking about players who played dozens of years ago. Even though the discussion clearly involved current players.

It is a dumb fact if you generalize that a football player can't be considered a great one if he happens not to play in a Europe, which is utter BS. Lets take Aboutrika for example, the one who this whole discussion started from, he has been a great player for his club Al-Ahli and in their colors he won the African CL 3 times IIRC. And the Egyptian league 6 times. Now you may say that doesn't prove anything at all, well on an international level he won the African Championship with his NT two times in a row two of which he was picked player of the competition. And he has been one of the most vital players for Egypt in the recent decade that some used to believe that Egypt=Aboutrika.

Many heard and watched his talent, so many offers from England, Spain and Russia were made to his Ahli club with the Russian offer being the best money wise ofcourse, so he began to consider it yet the fans and the clubs directors made him reconsider and eventually stay with a much improved pay-check yet it wasn't close to the Russian but nonetheless he stayed for what he claimed to be the fans' love.

Now you can claim he's not a great player since he has never played in a European league but fact is, had he played there he surely would have put in some magnificent performances like the one he put with both his club and country.

Maybe there's some guy in Africa who is faster than Usain Bolt, but who refuses to compete on an international level.

It doesn't count.

:wallbang:

Are you trying to annoy me with these answers or are you just ignorant?

I don't think I claimed that players outside of Europe can't be good or great.
What I did say is that if you, as a player, want to be universally regarded as a truly great one, then you have play in Europe. Simple as that.
Now, you may think that the general public is wrong in thinking like that, but that does not make it any less true.

It's not exactly rocket science, so I really don't know why that is so difficult to understand.

And I was arguing about that, I wasn't arguing whether its fair or not but rather denying it as a fact that every player have to make it in Europe to be considered good enough. While now you explained that it's the general public you were talking about and for that I agree, they do believe that.
