If this generation was so good they'd have made at least one WC appearance. They're winning the African Cup only because the African star players, none of which is an Egyptian, don't even give a damn about that competition in the middle of the season.

Thats not true, most African players even have run ins with their clubs so that they can play at the African Cup.

No, if you knew anything about Egyptian football, you'd know they've been raping African teams ever since the dawn of African football, before African players went to Europe. This isn't a new thing.

Egypts only problem is a lot of their players play in their shitty domestic league where training is poor, players eat and do whatever they want and in general there is zero discipline. Which is what makes their players fitness levels rather poor in comparison to Africans.

In a tournament that will last a few weeks, they'd have probably made it to the second round of the WC.

As for Croatia, when you at least regularly qualify for the European Cup, i'd take you guys a little more seriously. You have good players no doubt, but as a team, you still have some way to go before you can compare yourself to Egypt imo.

Well, you did qualify for many tournaments in the last 20 years and you always have 4-5 well known players so yes, you're traditionally among the best ~20 teams in Europe. Sometimes at the bottom of top 20, sometimes right after the top 10.

We played in 1996, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and we only didn't make it in 2000 and 2010.
Now tell me how many times out of these 8, Egypt would have qualified for an EC or WC if they played in a European qualification group?
They couldn't make past the African groups so I doubt they'd have did it in a Euro group.

If the games were all played over the span of a month, they'd probably make it every time

back to real life conditions, they probably wouldn't have made it, but then again i doubt if Croatia were in Africa, that they would win the Nations Cup three times in a row.

Not even players who have made it in the big leagues, names you probably recognize like Ghezzal, Kharja, Meghni in the Serie A, not Belhadj, Yebda, Mido and Zaki from the EPL, not Naybet, Moha and Regragui from the Liga. Not even the great Chamakh that everyone here knows and rates.

Abo Trika could have easily made it in Europe, he is easily more talented and a better footballer than a lot of players that play for UEFA cup teams in Italy, England and Spain. But like i said, Al-Ahli do not let their players move to European teams(or any other team for that matter) only in very rare circumstances.

Recently, after many Africans started playing for Europe's best clubs and they, like their clubs, got sick of playing some tournament in Africa every two years in the middle of the club season.

But when its NT time, Egyptian players are forced to take it seriously, thats why like i said, in short tournaments like NT tournaments i'd bet on Egypt doing just as well if not better than Croatia. If NT football were like club football and it was over an extended period of time, i'd bet Egypt wouldn't even be close to Croatia.
