I've said before I want less shit teams at the World Cup, but I don't want to turn this thread into a debate on that.

I like the World Cup in so much as it is an important tournament and provides a spectacle at times, but high quality, interesting games in them tend to be pretty few and far between.

If I recall correctly, you want most of the spots given to Europe.

If North Korea can beat Croatia, or whatever teams are in a play-off, I won't complain at them being at the World Cup.

A playoff between Africans and Europeans would be more appropriate though, we all know N.Korea aren't capable of beating Croatia. Egypt however has a big chance of kicking those balkans ass.

I'm not a fan of play-offs. The better team doesn't always win a one off match. I prefer a league style.

You haven't got any better despite having four and a half seats. There is a lot of money in Asian football, a lot of money is spent on the development of youngsters on academies on football schools, here in the gulf and also in countries like Japan, S.Korea etc.

But the fact remains, Asians still suck at football.

There problem is as you said their poor domestic league, their players are good enough for short tournaments that last a few weeks, but over the course of a year or two they don't have the consistency or fitness levels for that. Thats why they always suck at the qualifiers.

On their day, they could very well beat you though, divers or not.

On a good day everyone can beat almost everyone.

But your point is still a valid one. Not qualifying for the WC doesn't mean that Croatia belongs to the "play off" group of European teams. Croatia is still among the best 10-12 European teams, where Slovenia or Slovakia still don't belong.
If the best 10-12 European teams always make past the qualifiers, then the teams that follow can easily be beaten by Egypt.

I always like watching Egypt. El Hadary, Gomaa, Ahmed Hassan, Aboutrika, Zidan, Moteab are all good players, but getting very old now. Hossam Hassan was quality.
