Secco is also trying for Hamsik according to Tuttosport.
I doubt A.he wants to leave Napoli and B.Marino will let him go.. Its suprising what little scent journalists need to conjure up a story and with Marino declaring his interest in Iaquinta thats all they needed for a weeks worth of stories regarding Juve and Napoli.. Won't be happening IMO

And I doubt Hamsik would turn us down. Napoli want to keep Blasi and possibly Zalayeta as well and they can go for Cigarini (I think they are even linked with him). Of course they would love to keep Hamsik, but if the offer is right, they'll accept.

how do you know? why should they sell hamsik and go for cigarini?? (this doesn't make ANY sense) Who says they want to keep zalayeta and blasi? dude you're a bit naive there. Hamsik would be a great buy, but i don't think it's gonna happen. Napoli don't need to sell him, and there's absolutely no sign whatsoever that his price will drop next season. It probably will increase, and believe me, if hamsik wants to go by himself (which i doubt) then napoli will do everything to keep him for 1 or 2 more season because his price will probably double if he keeps performing like he did until now.
It's all media bs. There was this iaquinta rumour coming up, which is already vague enough and what do the newspapers do? Iaquinta - Hamsik swap. Next up if roma is showing the slightest interest in iaq (or any attacker) it will be Iaq - Aquilani swap... The media just tries to get some headlines... hamsik will most probably stay, just my 2 cents

:agree: and when considering any transfer related news with Napoli, bear in mind the ability and intelligence of Secco compared to that of Marino

Well, it doesn't have much to do with intelligence here. If Napoli would be ANYHOW willing to sell hamsik, they would arrange a deal, even if secco had the intelligence of a coconut. But looking at it from the outside, everyone sees that napoli have no reason to sell him, and hamsik himself still has enough of time left to prove himself for a so-called 'big'.
Some people just need to stop seeing the transfers through their juve-fan-glasses. I bet we all would go to juve if we were hamsik :) but it's not as simple as that :D

They wouldn't sell Hamsik and go for Cigarini. They would sell Hamsik for Zalayeta, Blasi, maybe even Iaquinta (and maybe even Nocerino) and go for Cigarini.
that doesn't make any sense to me. I understand what you want to say, but napoli have the financial means to BUY blasi and zalayeta. We don't want them at all and secco, marino just as the players know that. If napoli wants those two, they'll find an agreement. they don't need to sacrifice one of their best player for those two, and then hope to grab cigarini... Because persuading someone like cigarini to come to napoli will be far harder as keeping Hamsik himself.
It's a fact that napoli don't need money, and that they have a long-term plan with their current players. I see literally no chance for hamsik to come. I'd like to see me being wrong, but i highly doubt it.

Napoli: Hands off Hamsik
Thursday 8 May, 2008

Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has told Juventus that they won’t be able to snatch midfield ace Marek Hamsik.

The Slovakian star joined the Vesuviani from Brescia in the summer and has been very impressive in his maiden Serie A season.

A number of sides, including Manchester United and Juventus have been linked with the 20-year-old, but it seems unlikely that he will be moving.

“What are Juve’s chances of signing Hamsik? I don’t think they have a hope,” Marino said in the Corriere dello Sport.

“We don’t want to give anyone false hope – nobody will get their hands on our jewels and Hamsik is one of those.

“Besides, to be honest we haven’t received any offer from the Bianconeri.”

Rather than selling in pre-season, Napoli are looking to strengthen in the hope of UEFA Cup qualification next year.

“I like Raffaele Palladino, but there are also other players that I am interested in,” Marino explained.

“I think that we need to bring in four top-quality players at the end of the season, just as we did last year.”

I can see a swap + cash happening this summer...Nocerino and/or Palla to Napoli and Hamsik to Juve...

If it involves both players, I think they might have to pay us
If just one we might have to add a couple mill on top

Hi, I know we aren´t currently linked with him, but did You see him against milan? He was really good.
Well, Marino likes Noce, Palla, Iaq and I think if there is a chance we shouldn´t hesitate to sign him.
I have a very hard feeling we will end up with Mauri etc.

What a shame

Theres no way we going to get Hamsik now. if he is ever to come into the position to be sold i bet Man U and Chelsea will be in front of us . I dunt think Napoli wants Zalayeta and Blasi that bad either, this are not irreplaceable players in their squad for them . I dunt think they will take up this 2 players.
