Umm... you do realize that he has been Manure's manager since 1986, right?

Marcelo Lippi has won much more per season in a shorter period of time. In ten years with Juventus, he won more on average than Ferguson. Plus, the trophy of all trophies, the World Cup, is something that the Manure manager doesn't have. Until he wins that honor, I don't think I can say he's greater than Lippi.

And jeez, I don't even think Lippi is the greatest manager of all time. It's just that Ferguson won a lot during the time when United were head and shoulders above the rest in England, a period of time which spanned for over a decade until the emergence of Arsenal and then Chelsea. Contrast this to what Lippi had to face in the 90's (Milan) and then the Roman emergence after the turn of the century. We all know Serie A was the far more difficult league from 1990 until about 2003.
Man Utd were shit when he took over. It took him several years to turn them into a top side.

What I admire is the fact that he has consistently managed to to produce top teams. He is one probably his 4th Man Utd which he has won the league with.

I agree that when Utd started winning titles in the 90's that the competitio wasn't that tough but, from about 1998 onwards, there has been at least one other side good enough to win the title.

Lippi is a much better coach than fergie.
I consider Lippi the best tactician and Ferguson the best at man management.

Debatable.

It is also hard to judge who is better due to the different roles played by a British manager to an Italian coach.

On a club level, Ferguson has indeed achieved more than Lippi. On an international level, Lippi proved his brilliance. The fact is, Ferguson didn't take as much risks as Lippi, he didn't coach a national side and chose to remain in Manure where he had everything he needed.

His tactics aren't what made him successful in contrast to Lippi. He has always had certain players that have been able to make the difference, super players, if you may. His success isn't a result of tactical brilliance but more of his players' brilliance. After this season is over, people wouldn't ask,: Where would Manure be ithout Fergie" but would probably ask,"Where would Manure be without Ronaldo".

To me, Lippi is a better coach because his tactics and coaching were a huge part of why Itay won the WC. He didn't have a player that could run circles around a defense and finish off the game for you, he constructed a solid, compact team that were disciplined and mentaly strong enough to win. That to me, is why Lippi is a masterclass.

United never had "super players"!!! Who would u call supper cantona or beckham!! They had good players at best. But i have to say ferguson in my books is a great couch but never best in the world. Winning 1 champions league trophy in 25 years with man united doesn't make u a legand am sorry. He might be a legand for man united only but not when compared to others.....

Paul Scholes is one of the best passers of the ball in the game.

Van Nisteroy was one of the best finishers in the world.

Roy Keane was a phenomenon as was Ryan Giggs at his peak.

Beckham could put a football on the end of any players head on his day.

Then theres people like Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, Paul Ince who were all top players.

Man Utd always had great players in their squad.

He's definitely a legend for Man Utd. Benitez won the CL on his 1st season with Liverpool. You think he's better than Fergie. Best in the world is a statement noone should be eligible to carry. But Ferguson should definitely deserve his hype after what he has done. Put in a player and a coach together. It's almost the same. Del Piero won one CL in 15 years with us. He's a legend of Juve. So why not Fergie?

Who could really say? The players Man Utd had was more than enough super for their squad. Plus Beckham and Ryan Giggs should be rated just as highly during their days. Do you rate Zidane as a super player? Roy Keane made him look like nothing in 1999.

Ermm... if you would completely agree with me, you wouldn't state that Lippi is the greatest manager ever.

But come on, you must have completely agreed with me on other occasions.
Ya, that was kinda retarded of me, but I normally completely agree with your anti-Man U posts, but not much else, especially regarding Cronaldo.
