Italian Press reports suggest that Juventus are plotting to offer Marcelo Zalayeta in a part exchange swoop for Napoli starlet Marek Hamsik.

Hamsik has been one of the sensations of the Partenopei’s successful start to the season and is reportedly a target for some of Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United and Milan.

Juve have been keeping a close eye on the Slovak midfield wizard and are believed to be determined to bring him to Turin in the summer.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are ready to offer a considerable sum, plus full rights to Uruguayan hitman Zalayeta, who is currently on loan at the Stadio San Paolo.

While Hamsik has stressed that he wants to lead Napoli to the Champions League, he may not be able to resist an offer from one of Europe’s giants.

Although Hamšík grew up in Banská Bystrica, he never played for the major team Dukla Banská Bystrica. He started playing for a small youth team called Jupie Podlavice in Banská Bystrica.[1] In 2002 he signed with a major Slovak team Slovan Bratislava. He played for the Slovan A-team in one match, in which he scored a goal.

He moved to Brescia in 2004 as a 17 year old young talent from Slovan. The transfer cost Brescia €500,000.[4] His first match in Brescia was against Chievo Verona in March 2005.[4] Later that season Brescia finished 19th and was relegated to the Serie B. In 2005-06 he played 24 league matches for Brescia in Serie B, Brescia finished 10th. He had an impressive 2006-07 season, he scored 10 goals in 40 matches.

During the 2006-07 summer transfer season clubs such as Inter Milan were rumoured to be interested in buying him.[5] He later also attracted the interest of FA Premier League clubs Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.[6]

    [edit] Transfers
On June 28, 2007 newly-promoted Serie A club Napoli announced Hamšík signed a five-year contract with them.[7] The transfer cost Napoli €5.5million, the president of the club De Laurentiis said Hamsik is a player to look for in the future. [8]

He played his first major match for Napoli against Cesena in the first round of the Italian Cup. Napoli won 4-0, Hamsik passed to the opening goal and scored the second goal himself.[9] Scored his first goal in the Serie A on September 16, 2007, in the match against U.C. Sampdoria.[10] The match was in the third round of the Italian league, just after the qualification break in which he took part for Slovakia.

His favourite player and football icon is the Czech midfielder Pavel Nedvěd.[5] He has recently attracted interest from AC Milan and Real Madrid.

Napoli play a 3-5-2 with defensive midfielders Gargano and Blasi in the middle, and Hamsik slightly ahead of them. He does not play left winger, Savini does that.

If we indeed have an option on him(I doubt it) and they would accept Zalayeta's other half and even the full ownership of Almiron then DO IT SECCO!!! He can play anywhere in the mid but prefers playing in the center.
