Diego will come far more expensive, far more risk of a disappointment in a league transfer and resettlement, and raises far more questions about whether the real Diego was the one at Porto or the one at Werder (think Tiago and Lyon or Juve). And I would argue as a club -- style of play, management, ownership, club culture, city mentality -- Juve are a lot closer to Porto than we are to Werder Bremen.

Some fair points, some I don't agree with either. But it has to be said that the Bundesliga is superior to the Superliga, and the football played in Germany is more closely related to the football in Italy. That's why I cannot really look too much into his Porto days - partly because I didn't see too many of his matches there.

Everything is a risk nowadays. Almiron was one of the most consistent performers in Serie A for Empoli the past two seasons, now he's off on loan at Monaco after alledgedly not impressing. But he wasn't even given much of a chance. So we not only have a risk that our buys might be busts, but we also have the risk of our manager not even giving the new buys a chance or potentially fucking them up somehow. There's risk all around and in every crevice.

How do we manage this risk? By getting a better manager and ridding ourselves of Secco. Right off the bat we'll have better negotiation skills at least.

Some people who were against Sissoko's transfer said they would support him when he joined Juve. This i feel is the right menatality. We should support and hope for the best for Ranieri and Secco.

not everyone is like Messi and dominant at 18. He bloomed at 21 now he is 22 and killing it.

Is it not true that when Nedved hangs up his boots he will become part of the transfer team sort of like what Carboni did at Valencia? I think Nedved has a fantastic understanding of what it takes to be a Juve player, the fight, desire and talent.

So his approval might have a big impact. I can see him doing a great job when he hangs up the boots .. alot of top eastern European talent.

that is totally different. politicians are elected, the juve directors are appointed.

and war is not the same as transfers so it is a different perspective.

I may not think highly of them but i do hope they succeed and will support them hoping they do. no point in moaning over something we have no word in.

Personally i agree with Andy and Osman on this one, diego at the moment is miles better than Hamsik..the only reason Juve should try to go for Hamsik is because Diego is out of reach..

I guess its hard for you to consider, the fact I am saying the obvious in calling GREAT players are great and should not be dissed for players they are better then, as Diego is clearly better then Hamsik.

And oh, the other Brazilian I happend to "defend" was a certain Ronaldinho who is a brilliant player, and schmucks were saying he isnt good enough for Juve (saying Mutu is better....) when he is one of the greatest players in a long long time (one of those schmucks just said frigging Hamsik is preferred over Ronaldinho).


But ofcourse, its all about me defending brazilian players, and not resisting illogical crap like calling great players not good enough...


I really dig Hamsik, but its a frigging half-season! Talk about talking too soon, Diego being the best their is in Germany for years now is considered not enough, but Hamsik's half-season with a newly promoted side is enough? (how is it a better investment? Diego is as top notch of players as you can get in todays game, he shows he can deliver, Hamsik is much more unsure then he is) Btw, recall how Robinho was awesome in Santos? Well a 16-17 Diego was as good and at times better in those days.

either would be great. on a personal level, i have a preference for diego because of the type of player he is, but on tactical level i prefer hamsik. i rather we use box-to-box CMs than one AM and some DM's becuase if the AM is having a bad game or is being marked out of the game by a DM then the whole team will struggle. with CMs, they are always involved in the game and can't normally be marked out of the game, plus there is normally more than one playing at the same time, making the team more dynamic and solid, although less creative and unable to produce as much individual sparks of brilliance.

but as i said, either will do just fine.

People are still unhappy with Sissoko's transfer, but what is done is done. For that not happen again we have to replace Secco. Supporting and hoping for the best from Ranieri and Secco just shows the lack of support you have towards the club. We are a big club and we should be aiming for success and not hoping for it.

True about Diego in Santos..in the Copa Libertadores games that i saw..Diego was actually the better player.

are we seriously having this argument, clearly if were talking bout diego, werder bremen's diego he is clearly a better player than hamsik. dont get me hamsik is a great player a future talent but diego is on a higher level right now, this may change in the future it may not.

all in all IMO the main transfer strategy for the summer should be: Diego, or Deco, or Hamšík. If we can get one of them I´ll be satisfied. Which is the best solution? It´s hard, Deco is a proven WC player, but he is 30 and ATM he isn´t in form.

I´m just worried about the news saying that we are after either Flamini or Gilberto Silva. if that happens, I´ll shout myself.

We will see, I think there will be much more bullshit around the juve transfers...
