Yes, indeed. It requires years and years of hard training and dedication. Getting that 'big' is a hard thing to do and can always be control for those who don't want that shape.

Plenty of guys entering the gym each day, i can insult half of them with my opinion. But i dont, and neighter should you.

exactly. If someone asks me about it irl i answer him "you eat less then a quarter of what you should to get big, dont worry"
wich is true, no matter what product, even illegal you use, at the end of the day, you build with what you eat or not.

Every gym i come in, you can divide the people who trained for a while into two groups
- douchebags that indimidate and insult everyone thats new or not of their beachboy standards
- the nice guys, that create the good atmosphere in the gym, that are friendly, and who you get a good bond with.
I dont like the first group. I prefer gym to be supportive to each other, and not crack down.
Your comment insulted nearly every strenghtathlete above 100kg. So yeah, i didnt like it.
I hope in this thread you can keep away from the insults and trolling. This is a friendly supportive thread and everyone would like it to remain that.

To become big, you need to eat ALOT and also ALOT of protein, you need 4 workouts per week, doing 4/5 sets of 12/15 reps, push yourself to increase weight while keeping form, you need good vitamins, might consider a preworkout, etc. Most important, you need to make most of the anabolic moments of the day, and protect yourself while beeing in a catabolic state.
The main efford, is creating all that microtrauma, and have enough N-molecules floating around to repair them, and build more, get used to it, increase, etc
As a long distance runner, it would require the impossible and more to become big, as you are allmost all the time in a catabolic state. You burn to much calories to be able to have a significant synthesis of new muscle.
On the other hand, you have excellent stamina, wich is a godsent

My best friend tries to combine gym with running long distance and sprinting to become "all-rounded". i have as much respect for him as for the guy on insane diet trying to hit 3% fat whilst having 110 kg bodyweight

It's quite funny. I rarely 'lift' with 'Beach Boys' like myself. The late night group (post 8 pm) that I work out with are mostly big dudes, they are often the most helpful + they appreciate and acknowledge the effort I put in despite not going for size or extreme strength but rather explosiveness and a toned body (ryan reynolds-style).
There's mos def a point in many of the local 'beach boys' being some arrogant dicks more interested in their mirror image than creating a good atmosphere in the gym and helping out the n00bs. dont laugh just give advice. big dudes got the biggest hearts
So when I laugh at the 'gorillas' its merely banter and not an ignorant without the respect of what it takes to become big. the big guys at my gym calls me "little shitter" despite being 6'1 and 172 pounds. good fun.
