Man they are all the same to me, literally. And I'm not even talking about the ones that really go all out like dark metal and etc. But for eg. from Jeff Beck, who plays million notes just for playing them, ones like joe satrrainy and the famous steve vay and the rest lot(the shreders).

Granted, I haven't listen to them a lot, but that mainly because after listening just few minutes I don't understand what they want to say with that.

I just can't find the purpose to play so many notes, maybe to show how good you know modes or whatever other reason I don't know.

BB king can say everything that needs to be said with one note.

listen to the songs I just posted, they are as emotional and great as any blues song.

Was it Fade To Black or NEM that tallica wrote i responce to their amps getting nicked in germany? (not trying to discredit your argument, just can't remember which it was). Their most emotionally charged album has to be St Anger, given the context to its production - fighting alcoholism, breaking up the band etc. etc.

Master of Puppets, Kill 'Em All, ...And Justice For All, Death Metallic, Ride The Lightening, Metallica, St Anger, Garage Inc., Reload, Load. thats my order. MoP is one of the best rock/metal albums of all time for me. Fade To Black came up on random earlier and i grabbed my acoustic and could still play it note for note, haven't played it for at least 3 years....mental.

I rate his style of pentatonic widdling with Gn'R and VR, not the best guitarist in history - apparently he's sold out recently? If he's become the face of guitar, i'd rather him than others

Gn'R were a rad band when they were on the mark, and fairly mediocre when they missed it. Don't Cry, Welcome To The Jungle, Civil War (my favourite) are great songs. Their cover of Ain't It Fun (although a note for note copy) is a really great song.

Slash is great but probably a little overrated imo. But still I see it as good that he's that famous as it's better people liking him than some made up pop star with no talent.

G'n'R Probaby in my top 10 ever. Appetite is amazing and some of the songs off Use Your Illusion (I&II) are even better. Their cover of Knockin' On Heaven's Door is probably in my top 5-10 favourite songs ever.

Ain't It Fun is awesome, love playing that on guitar, especially the intro.

Thing that pisses me off about them is their tunning. I love being able to grab my guitar and jam with random songs when i feel like it or when they pop up on random. Because they are a semitone down I rarely bother, or if I do I have a month of tuning down and playing along with everything i can think of that is a semitone down.

it wasn't denmark, can't remember were it was. IIRC the dudes from anthrax borrowed tallica their gear so they could finish their tour.

yeah that happens to me all the time. Now I pretty much just leave my LP in E flat and LTD in standard.

I have so many knocking around I should do something like that, but im lazy . My guitar teacher has 5 acoustics in - open E, open G, open D, standard & DADGAD, which he uses on a daily basis. I was planing on using my tele as my Keith worship guitar - I put a set of 12s on it (bar the low E) and kept it in open G, but its too limiting so put it back to normal after a few months.
