Actually, those who watched Darko Pancev in the past will say that Macedonians can play football.
I don't know if you know Pancev's story but it's a good info for Turk to know what did Inter do to Pancev.
Darko Pancev was a goal machine. An improved version of Pippo Inzaghi. He was banging more goals than anyone else. His goal ratio was ~1 goal per match. He was doing it in the league, in Europe and for the national team.
Golden ball winner, Champions League (Cup) winner, ballon d'or 2nd place.... world's best attacker after Van Basten in his time.
Granted, he had a midfield consisted of Savicevic, Jugovic, Prosinecki and Mihajlovic (Sinisa Mihajlovic was a winger back in those days, and a damn good one), but the goal record was still unbelievable.
Every single team in Europe was after him and they all offered crazy money to get him. Juve were also offering crazy money, and so were Barca, Real, Atletico, Milan etc.
In order to buy him Inter offered him the highest salary in the world. He was the highest paid player when he signed for Inter.
The moment he signed, the very same day, Inter started blackmailing him. Accept a big pay-cut, sign a new contract or you won't play. He didn't want to do it and Inter didn't play him at all. For 3 or 4 years he was allowed to play only in Coppa Italia.
That earned him the "worst transfer of the 20th century" award.
