I don't think that Beppe is built that way, to leave the club in the middle of the transfer season. Besides, all indications are that he was let go, and did not resign.

It may have to do with how the total amount of expenditures on 1 player would affect the economic stability of the club, especially if they don't win the CL. We have essentially put all of our eggs in one basket now.

Which is fine, if it works and we win a CL or even maybe 2. If we don't, though.
I disagree. I'm not sure Beppe can really make that decsion and tbh I don't believe that the alleged 300mil euro expenses that will be spent on Ronaldo was ever justified for improving the chance to win the CL. Maybe to the fans but not the board.

It is surely an investment to build the brand off of his otherworldly reputation CL or not. Banking on him winning us the CL would be ridiculous.

Disagree completely. Pipa investment was like u describe cuz Higua has almost zero marketing appeal, so it was a bad investment IMO... CR7 ROI is going to work by itself just through marketing revenues

If I had to guess, I'd say he'll end up in Inter. Napoli with ADL, who likes to handle transfers himself (and does very well), doesn't seem that realistic and Milan and Roma might stick with the guys they recently appointed. Then of course there are smaller sides who'd take him with their arms open, he might have a big salary for them, but everyone knows he's worth so much more than the couple of millions he earns per season

It's hard to see him in clubs outside of Italy, although he is still relatively young for his role and maybe could adapt well.
is it too early to gloat? :D

It's not a bad time to leave for him. A lot of opportunities popping up. Sad though to see him leave. Especially since he's 'forced' out.

Everyone had a role to play. Except maybe Nedved, I have no idea what he does :p
He signed Pjanic

Like I've said several times before I've always felt Marotta held us back to give us that real jump in quality we needed at times, the season we sold Vidal and replaced him with hernanes is one that I find hard to comprehend still. Paratici for me is the brains behind the big operations the ones that have really given us that boost. Its evident to me that this must be the main reason if not the only reason why AA cut marotta loose
Just shut up

I'd hate to see him go to Inter but he'd still be a legend. Let's not forget we kicked him out, unlike Lippi who went there for the cash.
Lippi got fired here after string of poor results, culminating with 2-4 home loss against Parma.

Tbh once players or staff leave the club, I couldnt care less where they end up. They are only trying to make a decision they consider the best for themselves and family. His legacy here should be respected though and denigrating him and rewritting history doesnt feel right.
