I like the idea of Morata, Mandzukic, Dybala, Coman, and a jack of all trades 5th striker. Morata-Mandzukic could probably work quite well in a front 2 if we had actually purchased a creative treq. they are very different players, with Morata enjoying more freedom to drift around, out wide, pick up the ball deep, run at defenders, etc. and Mandzukic being more the hardworking penalty box forward... But we haven't signed a creative treq, and part of that has to be wasting 18 mil on Zaza and not being able to offload Llorente's 4.5 mil wage. So that's a massive failure on the part of our management as things currently stand.

If we sign a top CAM, and manage to offload Llorente, this mercato will have been very good. If we don't, I don't even know how to rate it. It's pretty damn mediocre.

i think Zaza was meant for the role of a super sub. probably would have been subbed in in majority of the games around 60th minute for Morata/Mandzu (or a mid/defender if we chase a result) and get the occasional start in coppa games, when we rest players for CL, and when/if we secure the scudetto around march/april. Llorente staying decreases his chances of being that, and he doesent want to lose his place at Italy, so he and his agent are looking to get loaned somewhere, if what reported is true

No point in panicking yet but I don't see any AMs on the market to be taken.

are you sure? Italy lacks strikers and he is already in the squad. Conte is well aware of his qualities and i think he would take him for sure if he plays, especially if he scored a few crucial goals coming in as a sub. the other choices are Pelle, Immobile, Destro, Balotelli, none of them is in the category of our strikers that are ahead of Zaza, so he would have very good chances if he gets solid playing time at Juve.

Which good offers are you talking about? Did Beppe come out and confirm that Llorente rejected any moves? Or any one from Juve for the matter? Or are you just spewing shit out of your hairy ass as usual?

You can't blame Llorente for not wanting to leave for half his wages when he could simply stay for the rest of his contract here which Beppe himself agreed to give him btw.

I have to wonder if we agreed to some mandatory buyback last summer, with the amount Sassuolo paid us for Zaza's half. I just don't get this move otherwise. If it was an optional buyback clause, why the hell would we redeem him at that amount, especially before having offloaded Llorente. It makes me think there was some mandatory buyback inserted in the initial deal, which in itself would be pretty ridiculous, but not the sheer idiocy of buying Zaza of our own volition this summer, without first offloading Llorente.

Any decision to buy him, wether this summer or before, is stupid. It gets worse because of the overpaying.
