Lucio was useless when he played for us so I dont see that as any great loss or as someone who ought to have been replaced.
Both Chiellini and Asamoah will be back in a few weeks so I don't see the need to replace them, especially given that we've already got Bonucci, Barzagli, Caceras and Marrone who can play CB. The left side of defense can be covered by De Ceglie, Peluso (who I think people are far too quick to put down) and Caceras if needs be.

I can understand your anger but I at times I just think its misdirected, you cant put all of the blame on Marotta, he doesn't make the tactics, he can't control the market, he cannot stop players representing their countries.

Surely you can appreciate that there are many other determining factors at play here, the board of directors sets the budget, Conte ask for specific players, Serie A being a fairly unattractive option to a lot of players in these modern times.
I am not putting the entire blame on Marotta, Conte gets an equal share for ignoring the dip and for asking for Peluso. Talking about Peluso we saw how we existed the Coppa, lost to Sampdoria at home and dropped points to Genoa. It's not too quick, he's been a disaster and there are no signs of improvement. Accept him as he is and live with 5M€ in limited budget.

The Society finds it reasonable not to be the top spender among the italian clubs during January, considering the fact that we were the top spender only 5 months ago in the summer mercato. The Society considers the January transfer window to be just a prolongment of the summer transfer window; a chance to make necessary adjustments to the side. It was obvious that we wouldn't be spending the sums required to get Balotelli and Lisandro Lopez.

We stand firm in our belief of this squad. The ingredients for a scudetto-win is in place. It's Conte's job now to ensure it happens.
None made.

Im personally gonna reserve judgement on Peluso for a little while longer. Im not saying his introduction has been anything but below average thus far however.

I still believe we have the strongest squad in the league and should hold onto the scudetto.

I wish I had your confidence in the team.

Peluso was a much needed acquisition for the left side, despite him having performed poorly so far. The verdict is still out on Anelka. Lopez would've been a much better upgrade for the attack, and so would Balotelli, but we need to consider our lack of funds and other factors which made it very difficult to get those players.

A lot of our players are performing poorly at the moment. What remains as a fact, though, is that we do have the strongest squad in the league. If Conte can't get them to perform at their best, he will have failed this season.

And Peluso-haters should also keep in mind that Conte requested him specifically.

So if Conte requested him we should trust him blindly? I actually put a big blame on Conte for the abysmal performance and even a bigger blame for not doing anything about it.

I'll be honest. Looking back over this Mercato, I feel a little disappointed in Marotta but I also understand the financial implications behind his lack of signings, hence his repeated attempts to get loan signings.

We're looking a little thin and that's concerning, especially given the injury issues we're facing and the important matches upcoming. We'll see how it pans out. Hopefully a few of our injured players can return in time from that stretch of matches between CL and Seria A.

Peluso has won most if not every challenge he's been in since joining the team. If you can't see that you're just incredibly biased.

He fucked up on the cross to Gonzalez. That is a fact as well.

He has weaknesses. One I would say straight away is that he's too timid in his own box which cost us against Icardi for their 2nd goal. But it's still not necessarily his fault. Chiellini would have done better but that's why he's Chiellini and Peluso is Peluso. But it's not his fault we are giving away breakaways.

Ultimately Peluso is a backup so if you expect flawless performances then get ready to spend 15M on backups instead of 5M. And the fucker even scored a goal.

You won't lack funds at crucial junctures if you don't spend money where its not required. Eg. 18m on Isla. We're so confused, we don't even know what to do wi him, that too when wr have a central player in Asamoah playing out on the left. Yes, he's plugged that gap well, but in his absence, we have to spend a further 5m on someone like Peluso. If funds are limited, you've got to know how to spend, so that when it comes to the crunch, you're in a good enough position to plug the gaps qualitatively. A lot of people may dsisagree when I say this, but a scudetto can be won and lost in the winter mercato, and as things stand, Napoli have been suitably strengthened. We've not really helped ourselves when we've had the chance.

Waiting for those 28 Year Old mediocre italians to judge is retarded... These Players have been poor for all their career why on earth should they Start to perform all of a sudden... Peluso, giac and Co are poor Players and that will never change

No need to come up with ehh scudetto ehh breaking even... I heard you before.... If you wanna stay succesful you gotta invest. Yes we have the best squad in Serie a but a) we are in pretty poor Form and b) 2 of 3 Investments in the Summer didn't pay off (gio,isla)... Only asamoah and he is played out of position. This squad needed some adjustments and it didn't happen, we will see if it was enough to win the scudetto again.

BTW how would you rate the summer mercato right now? After more than half a season i gotta say it was more depressing than i thought. I had much higher hopes of isla and gio well didn't rate him before but he has been poor... Plus why let Alex leave.... We gotta lot to fix come Summer and i dont see it happening. We need a total revamp of our striking Force (only vucinic and Llorente should be here)... Plus a lwb is def. needed and a good rotating cb.
