It's not like Juventus win the Scudetto every year.
:sergio:

Seriously Jack, some of your comments today have been downright childish.

What were you expecting from this transfer campaign, a striker yes? Do you think Lopez would have been the answer to our striker problem? Lets imagine there was 20-25 million available for a world class striker. Who would you name as a candidate that could come in and adapt straight away and solve the problem outright? Secondly do you think this players club would relinquish him halfway through a season?

Going on like we've thrown the scudetto away in January, its ridiculous mate.

Official Statement - January 31, 2013

The mercato closed with the following acquisitions: Peluso, Llorente (next summer), Cevallos Enriquez and Anelka (short term fix for the attack).

The Society finds that The Great Man has delivered - once again.

A squad of great quality is at the disposal of Mr. Antonio Conte. If il mister can't fix the problems we're currently having with team morale, not showing enough hunger, not being attentive enough during games, the players being too nonchalant etc., then the blame should be put on him.

A striker is one very important position. A defender that can fill Chiellini's boots. A winger to replace Asamoah. Not letting Lucio go. A player that can play instead of Pepe (our ONLY player who can play another formation)

Instead we got Peluso which is simply crap and seriously, it is stupid to wait for judging him.

At the same time we see Napoli, our direct competitor, improve and strengthen all the positions they need.

At the same time we witness a colossal dip in form and no one at the club even bothered do something about it.

This is how I see it and thus my predictions to giving the title away. Am I right? I really hope not but only in May we can know the answer.

@JCK

Lucio was useless when he played for us so I dont see that as any great loss or as someone who ought to have been replaced.
Both Chiellini and Asamoah will be back in a few weeks so I don't see the need to replace them, especially given that we've already got Bonucci, Barzagli, Caceras and Marrone who can play CB. The left side of defense can be covered by De Ceglie, Peluso (who I think people are far too quick to put down) and Caceras if needs be.

I can understand your anger but I at times I just think its misdirected, you cant put all of the blame on Marotta, he doesn't make the tactics, he can't control the market, he cannot stop players representing their countries.

Surely you can appreciate that there are many other determining factors at play here, the board of directors sets the budget, Conte ask for specific players, Serie A being a fairly unattractive option to a lot of players in these modern times.

The Society finds it reasonable not to be the top spender among the italian clubs during January, considering the fact that we were the top spender only 5 months ago in the summer mercato. The Society considers the January transfer window to be just a prolongment of the summer transfer window; a chance to make necessary adjustments to the side. It was obvious that we wouldn't be spending the sums required to get Balotelli and Lisandro Lopez.

We stand firm in our belief of this squad. The ingredients for a scudetto-win is in place. It's Conte's job now to ensure it happens.

Alright, so let's sum up everything ;

Milan : Salamon, Balotelli
Napoli : Rolando, Calaio, Radosevic, Armero
Inter : Kuzmanovic, Rocchi
Lazio : Felipe Anderson
Juventus: Peluso, Anelka, Cevallos

:numnum:
you left Llorente out of that list presumably because he didn't arrive in January, therefore I ask would you prefer we had paid his release clause?
