Marrotta himself said he regretted the RvP deal., and even said that the reason that it fell through was the buy out amount for a player in the last year of his contract. Salary was not the issue. I'm not assuming anything. Arsenal wanted an x amount of money. Even a bid close to that of United would've had the player on his way to Turin because they didn't want him to go to a title contender. The caramelol comment could've been used just as well coz Wenger thought Juve weren't in the running coz they hadn't made a serious enough bidl

Seeing the player, seeing the amount paid for him and seeing the circumstances of his purchase, do you really think that goal that you're talking about could be considered a positive in this context? A defender whose cost us 5m, and been the cause of two conceded goals and scored one, does it change anything for you now? Still a $#@! deal for me.
In fact, when United made their move, he felt Juventus were the biggest threat.

"He (Van Persie) told me himself that he turned them down," said Ferguson.

"Juventus made a massive offer to the boy. I thought they were our biggest threat. But fortunately he signed for us."

This is a lot of wishful thinking. In the end United are paying £70m for RVP, which we can't do.

I can see an argument for committing money for Lisandro or even Drogba, but that move is another level. I'm going to have to leave you with your RVP fantasy.

No, a goal is definitely a negative. Seriously...

As for Peluso overall I'd say he has been negative so far. We like killing players straight away, so why should he be any different?

How do you know we don't have the numbers for RvP? Fact is, the minute we picked up the phone to talk to his agent, we already knew what kind of numbers we would be dealing with. The same case in the Aguero saga, where we had a sizeable chunk of income that was trumped by city. Unless you're saying we were never interested in their signature or pursued them for a fair amount of the mercato duration.

As for Peluso's goal, what I mean is, even if you want to consider it a positive, it is a negligible bit that's not going to change one's opinion of the signing. I think this was a bad signing from the start. And given that it's not improved the team in anyway, it was a decent amount of money that could've been used to improve the team in other areas like the forward department where we are lacking even more, if Marrotta couldn't close on any quality DLC players.

Thats what Marotta is trying to do. Convince players who could earn far more elsewhere to play for Juve because of the unique club we are.

If we really want to test Marotta's persuasion skills we should send him to Russia to get us Eto'o. Pay cut from 20m to 2m, but since we're a special club that should be no problem.

Badmotor talking about winning CL
Talk about being delusional.
There is no harm in dreaming. A winning team always believes. There is nothing delusional about wanting to win the CL; it's not as if we are Celtic, Schalke, or even Malaga.

As long as we negotiate Celtic, get a favorable draw, and luck is on our side, anything is possible.

Chelsea last year, Porto in 04, and the fuckers in 2010 were all considered outside bets, much like we are now, but they dared to dream and believe.

Barcelona, Madrid, United, and Bayern can't and aren't going to win it every year ;)

Hence, why the acquisition of a clinical finisher is essential if we want to go far. Look at what Drogba did for Chelsea last season, and you begin to understand why :)
