Wrong again, Caceres had a signing clause which Marotta thought it's big and rightfully so. And everyone here thought that it was right decision to not sign him. And in the winter it was between him and Guarin. Of course that Conte had a role in his signing, I don't want a manager who will sign players without coach's approval. They need to work as a team.

This season for me is what will eventually decide Marrotta's fate as a GM worthy of Juve or not in the long run.

As Marotta said we will ad quality and by that I think he means one WC player, others will be solid players.

Also let's not forget that we were never a club like Madrid or Chelsea, City, Barca, that every season brings WC players. We always been a solid team made of hardworking players and few WC players, and this Juve is finally starting to look like that team again.

There's a lot you're forgetting Oggy. Look at players like Bonnucci and Pepe who have made giant strides this season. These were players Marrotta had bought and overpaid for last season, only to want to get rid off this season.it was Conte who stopped him from doing so and transformed them with his belief in them. Marrotta has never seemed very sure of his market movement because if you see the no. of players he bought last season and this season, you'll realise he doesn't have very clear plans. Getting a second season and access to Juve's funds was a blessing for him because it allowed him to spend more and find some players who worked, but really it is Conte who had clear ideas and roles for every player on the team. Look at Ziegler for example, we got him and loaned him out in the same summer. It's clear Marrotta was also working independently at certain times. Had we still had Del Neri as coach, this wouldn't have been a scudetto winning team.i can guarantee you that much. My main grouse against Marrotta has been his inability to identify quality and a hoarding mentality that one finds at smaller clubs. Even in the January market, we got rid of Toni and got in Borriello, and got rid of Pazienza and got in Padoin. Both replacements didn't improve the team anymore than the earlier two players did.

I also dont agree about lowering ambitions this season. As Champions of Italy, and a lot of outgoing players, we should easily have the necessary funds to negotiate at least two quality players. And it's funny you say we are not Madrid or Chelsea, yet we have spent as much as Man City in the last two seasons if my memory serves me right. I know for a fact that Conte has worked a miracle with a lesser team and for Marrotta to earn a creditworthy presence as GM, he's going to have to make things happen this summer.

Moggi was very sure of people he invested in. Look at the kind of money we spent on guys like Viera, Emerson, Camoranesi, Zalatan. I just think the main difference between them was that Moggi was very sure about the players he was getting and had clear ideas on how they would fit into the team.
