Lich
Barzagli
Vidal
Pirlo
Vucinic
Caceras

yeah all those signings of the season were not helpful at all....let alone the fact they make half the team

Barzagli was bought as a cheap Italian option. We are looking at his purchase like he was always the player we've seen this season. He transformed under Conte.

Vucinic came in after we lost out on Aguero and possibly every other high profile target Marrotta had mentioned. That too, it was eventually Conte who wanted the wing forward after all other options closed down.

Caceres is the same player Beppe got rid off a season earlier and didn't renew his loan, so safe to conclude Conte asked for him in January.

As for Vidal, to the best of my knowledge, I could be wrong about this but Marrotta wanted Inler, it was Conte who asked for Vidal.

Licht too said it was the phone call from Conte that convinced him to join Juve.

Pirlo, however, was all Marrotta because this deal was sealed even before Conte was hired.

Point is, the money was well spent in the absence of the high profile signings that were promised. And in his time with Juve he has spent a lot of the club's money, almost to a failing degree. The reason why everybody calls this scudetto a miracle, is because Conte transformed a team that lacked world class quality into champions. For the amount of money we have spent, we could and should have had bigger players on our books. This season, there are no excuses. Because its pretty evident that a large part of the credit is owed to Conte's work and methods. Not Marrotta's prowess in the market. This season for me is what will eventually decide Marrotta's fate as a GM worthy of Juve or not in the long run.

So Marotta thought Barzagli would be a useful addition to the squad and it turned out to be true. So both deserve praise.

Nobody knows what happened, even if they claim they do.

Well that's my opinion.

People were laughing their ass off back in 2007 "here" whenever someone would criticize Secco. Remember the whole Suckoo jokes.

Anyways like I've always said I think that Marotta is just average at what he does, thank god for having Conte here.
Part 1 I quoted is an opinion.

Part 2 is not an opinion, but a flat out lie.

No I'm not trying to make a joke that they are all Italian, I may be having a brainfart but I don't know what they all have in common.

Edit: Oh wait I see now, all the important players we had before the start of last summer mercato.

Krasic was at the time a good purchase and in the initial half a year. Barzagli was a masterful purchase. Cudos. Others have contributed as well but has come with overprice. But as a Swedish journalist noted in a show, before the season started he tried to make due from earlier mistakes by selling Bonucci and others but failed to do so. A failure we today can be happy about but that can't really be credited to Marotta. During last summer there were even a lot of suggestions that he were looking to offload Chiellini, Marchisio among others but did not succeed in his attempts. The selection of conte had Marotta nothing do with it either. Marotta deserves to be acknowledged to some degree, without any hesitation. But I will also recognise his failures - which are quite a few and growing. I am willing to give him another year to prove him self, he deserves that. But I still feel that he is not juvematerial, although I hope he can assure me this feeling is wrong. Mostly I'm uninsured regarding his reluctance to not find a proper striker, and before PDC found himself, a real LB. but as I said. He needs to be acknowledged for the purchases of players such as Lich, Barzagli, Pirlo, Vidal, to name a few

I think that all of you keep forgetting that we finished 7-th place last season and were not playing in a single cup... good LB's are hard to find as such, and even harder when those very few good LB's want to play in Europe... the same goes for the strikers... although when it comes to the strikers we had available at the beginning of the season, you really cant complain much. We had only Seria A and the Coppa to play and a strike force of Matri, Vucinic, Del Piero, Quagliarella and even Giacc was (as we came to see at the end) enough. But i agree with one thing, and that is that next season and this transfer period Juve and everyone involved should step up their game. Now we are in CL, Campioni d'Italia and our chances of snatching a top player are much much bigger than last season....

that is pure bullshit. Conte made clear that marotta had deals with zenit for bonucci and pepe and that he told them to stay cos the are important for his plans. marchisio and chiellini never were for sell just because inter gazetta says that doesn't mean it is true.
