Good team it was though, for Sampdoria.

And they reached the CL.

Both things can be said about our 09 squad which was expected to finish in the top 3/if not win the league and made it through to the 2nd round of the CL.

Regardless of the # of foreign talent we had on our squads from 07/08 - 09/10 those teams were not built well at all. Scrap parts with some shiny bits to try to make the team alluring. But overall a shite squad put together by the same management but pre-Marotta.

what international got to do with anything? we still have to go out there and buy a midfielder who could have benefited from playing with the squad this year. Aquilani was never a very good deal. And quag was a way over priced plan b scramble.

No ? It was an amazing deal. How often do you see players of his level get loaned ? And now we should buy him, 13M is a steal for a quality player as him. I know some people here dont rate Aquilani, I dont know why, as he has played all season along a mediocre player like Melo and he wasnt even playing in his natural role. I would keep him every day instead of bringing Pirlo, who it is a mistery how he is going to come back from his injury. Aquilani with a defensive midfielder (maybe Lassana Diarra if we can get him for 7/8 M), Bastos and Krasic on the wing, and make Alberto the playmaker, give him more ofensive duties, and then he will be brilliant.
