Alright, fine. :D

However, is Toni worth Trezeguet's wages plus his own? Technically, that's how much Juventus is spending on a poacher.

Spare me. He ousted Diego, Trezeguet, Giovinco, and Camoranesi, all of whom would've been of use this season. For someone who "didn't have a budget", he liberally threw away 12 million euros in an event that will be forever known as the Great Catania Swindle.

As for the wage bit, Juventus was still paying for Trezeguet's salary even though he was in Spain. After realizing that this team didn't have a proper finisher, Marotta brings in Luca Toni and pays him astronomical wages. Now he's going to bring in a washed-up injury-prone Andrea Pirlo and pay him astronomical wages. How is this considered progress?
Well, Martinez has had a bad season. I still think he is a good player and if he has another season can show something more. Diego was ousted because he didnt fit in the 4-4-2 of the project and to make some money. Camoranesi was on a high contract and was doing nothing to justify it. Giovinco was a poor decision, yes.
I not agree about Pirlo, could end being a very well transfer if we manage to stay him fit as we did with Aquilani.

People here are so unfair with Marotta. Do you really think that he is the cause of all our problems ? I think he has done a good job this last year. Yes, a good job, because unlike Secco he had no budget. He had to make his own resources, selling players or sending them on loan in order to bring new players. He also reduced a lot the wage bill and didnt give to the players he brought astronomical wages as his precessor, who left him a massively overpaid team.
He had some mistakes, sure. Every director has, and if you work without a budget you are going be more prone to mistakes.
I am happy with this project and think that is going to be successfull in the long term. But you have to give it time, you cant transform the mess Secco left us in only one season.
Well, it looks like The Society has another strong member

In Marotta's defence Camoranesi's time was up. He made some mistakes but is getting hated for wrong reasons.

Toni isn't on astronomical wages either, he took a paycut to join us.
You are focusing on the wrong reasons. Read through the pages of this thread and you will see the reasons why this man is despised. If you need a reminder then you should start from the beginning.
