Yeah, for the first half of the season until teams figured out how to defend against it.

That right there is a clear indication how piss poor that player was.

No ability to beat a man 1 v 1, crossing sucked, first touch/passing sucked...the guy was as limited as limited could be...ergo lacked TECHNICAL as well as intelligence.
His crossing was great, stop the oral diarrhea please.-

but still, we ended up using him out of position and did not avoided to buy a dedicated LWB/LCB anyways, (which was yet another compromise)
Whilst all the while suffered much more by neglecting our priority (finisher)
Suriously, dont you think that we wouldnt be in a better position now, if we had Cavani instead of Asamoah and Isla?
We probably won't know how things would work out, had Cavani joined us instead. But I do want that.

I think you're harsh on Estigarribia, Masi and Giaccherini.

Constantino was 4th choice keeper for one season.

Edit: oops, I've added Vidal to the list now.
It's just LowLife, you're wasting your time.

Kinda agree.

I wonder who actually reads that garbage.
It's not garbage, it's Cronios being right again.

In the summer:

1- we were seeking a fine CB sub to rotate with our 3, in order to rest them.
Marotta signed Lucio for free, an experienced CB, but one that seemed to be retiring from top football.
Some said he is finished, some said that he will return like Pirlo, personally i asked for a decent investment for the CB role and no cheap quick fixes, bottom line Marotta's decision backfired, no without Chiellini our defence is abused by noones and we lost a number of matches.
Every single point lost might or might not count in the end, but its on Marotta's shoulders as he has failed to provide what we needed taking the extra risk to loan out all the other option like Sorensen and trust that Peluso has any ammount of defensive solidarity to play in this level.

2- We also wanted a LB, but Marotta brought just more RBs and tried to sell Licht, some said that Chiellini would cover both the CB and LB/LWB role, i asked for a dedicated LB, someone who can complement DC providing better defensive solidarity for the matches this is more important, than DC's crosses and runs. Rumors appeared about Peluso and i called it as the worst possible option.
Conte tried Asamoah in a friendly there because the need for consistency and defensive solidarity was great and DC couldnt offer that, so he made a compromise, untill the permament solution arrives.
Unfortunately Marotta has failed again to find that LB starter and we had to settle with that quick fix, fortunately Asamoah did great there, as Conte has adapted him well there.
But as the season is long and we are likely to need him for his primary role, the need for further investment appears again and Marotta puuls a new Grosso, Zeglier again, learning nothing from his mistakes and landing the worst LB in the league, all the sacrifices and compromises made again gone in vain and starting next year we will still be looking to fix that long term issue...wasting yet more millions...

3- Our primary target was the finisher, our team under Conte became competitive enough, but we were always struggling to finish those chances and lost many easy victories in games we totally owned because of this.
This was also appeared to be our greatest fault, against the most competitive teams.
Ever since we lost Treze, we were suffering from it and far too many times we preferred opportunity targets that are primarily SSs, rather than finishers, just because they were more easy to find.
After having a load of them, one would thing that this time we will spend the bulk of our budget on smth different than CMs and SSs, besides we were holding some of the best in the league, had many talents with great potential for the future and on the top of it Marotta pulled on of his best tricks with the steal of Pogba early on the summer.

We recently suffered the Borriello fiasko and that almost cost us the championship and was the primary reason we lost the cup.
And then Marotta wastes a full summer aiming for impossible targets. And ends buying a new Borriello in Bendter...
Many excuses were made, he turned out the Quaq-Pazzini swap and some ppl said that Quaq will become more prolific this year.
He opted to spend the ammount that could have land us a Dzeko/Cavani in 2 more mids, just like we do in each and every transfer window since we lost Moggi.
And the only excuse left for his apologists, now that we were strong, had the title and CL appeal, was that Marotta had a plan to bring Llorente, (not quite the RVP/Aquero/Cavani/Dzeko some were hoping)
a decent option, at a decent price at x-mas, right on time to secure the championship and help in the most crucial CL games.

And here we are now, we failed to detect the finisher need, because DP despite being primarily a SS, he was prolific enough to compensate with enough goal ratio.
Ever since there was a series of misjudgements of forwards like Iaquinta, Amauri, Matri and Quaq and Vucinic, becoming goal poacher, or DP like prolific.
Failure after failure and millions upon millions were wasted, with me pointing out before each and every targets that it is the finishing we lack the most,
until Marotta and community finally understand that i was right all along and finally focused at bringing one.

Finishers happen to be the most expensive players they are, major investment is needed, cheap choices in our level are simply lacking smth.
So this transfer should take priority against all other, at least for one transfer window.
We needed that player last year, we have failed again and yet again to get him and what did Marotta do? Made a 2mil offer to get now a player who's the contract expires next year.
This player raised our interest in the first place, exactly because we could get him in cheap, not because he was top class.
And without considering our needs in the past 2 years, what we did was just waiting for his contract to expire so that we can get him for free...
Great plan that, but what happens in the meantime?

A temporary solution like Rossi, Drogba, Lisandro were in cards, but it seemed that Marotta was too limited to reach them and the best he could was Anelka.
The feel is that this quick fix is fairly inferior to any other offer, some claim that we should rather keep DP instead.
Time will tell if this will be prooved to be yet another Marotta fiasco, with Anelka getting injured in a couple of weeks and leave us without options for the rest of the season.

But after a summer transfer failing a get to land our primary targets and forcing us to more compromises, we can now safely judge it as the third failure in 3 years...

The next one seems promising with Llorente already in.
But was he worthy of wasting 2 years without a CF? Is he good enough to avoid the need for that +30mil acquisition in the future anyway?
Will Marotta finally find the dedicated CB and LB/LWB he has been searching since his first day with us?
Will he avoid spending the bulk of our budget on new CMs and SSs for once, this remains to be seen, but at any case, there are a lot of questions for anyone to claim that the last two season were sacrificed because next year can surely compensate for what we have been through...

Lucky us we have Conte though, despite the several strategical mistakes Marotta did, Conte has managed to get the best of the available players and fill the gaps as best as he could.
Although this year may not have the same WoW effect, considering Marotta's failure we must give an credit Conte for compensating for Marotta's inefficiencies.
And of course our investors who can splash those massive ammount of millions without getting anything back from sales, because this is by far Marotta's biggest fault,
that and the co own deals than cost us millions (like the Giovinco fiasko, another point i made about him 2 years ago and was verified this year)

cameron. you were on the ass kissers of krasic.

shall i go pull out the posts?
Sure, if you'd like. I was with him in the beginning until he tanked after his first half season. I just chose to stop supporting him while people kept on defending him.

I think his downfall came after that game winner against Lazio.

We were happy because we were all "brainwashed" into thinking we had a speedy Camoranesi replacement. We thought we struck gold in the first half of that season until we started noticing his clear limitations from watching him weekly. We weren't the only ones that noticed it unfortunately...other teams did too.

Sad. Nice guy. Just quite a limited player for the cost we paid.
