We are third highest spender in the world, we could have easily sign a striker in his calibre.
I'm pretty sure we're not third highest spenders. We spent most in Marotta's first season, where the team was being rebuilt. So it's obvious €40m would not be spent on one player.

Now it's a situation where we have a strong team and foundation and you ask whether the club will now put €40m into signing a striker. If you listen to the words of Marotta and Conte it's a resounding 'no'.

ya except this guy looks more like 50th option, and cheese demonstrated a trend that no one can deny. You know that guy is not infallible and you dont have to justify his f-ups
If I was justifying I'd agree with them, I don't.

Don't you find it pathetic that we found ourselves in this situation ?
What situation? I don't see many things pathetic about this current Juventus, to be honest. I found 7th place pathetic, some of the players we had, not this team.

First of all, there is no reason to even consider Anelka. That much needs to be agreed on. Anelka. Think about it. The old guy who plays in China and still can't score for shit. And we want him as a striker. Right.

Second of all, Marotta should've offered more than 7 million for RVP. That was ridiculous.

In fact, when United made their move, he felt Juventus were the biggest threat.

"He (Van Persie) told me himself that he turned them down," said Ferguson.

"Juventus made a massive offer to the boy. I thought they were our biggest threat. But fortunately he signed for us."

Dude has tons of experience though. Could be critical in the later stages of whatever competitions we haven't crashed out of.

Yeah, not to mention Arsene would've gladly sold him to us instead of fucking United.

I have to have an opinion of him first. I'm not going to go with the masses and demand we sign him if I don't know his current level.

Right now we need a striker as we are one short for a long spell and others on and off. If you're asking whether we need Lisandro as he is the guy to score the goals then I'd say I don't know. Actually I don't think anyone knows that, but he has sufficient pedigree to be attractive.
Bottom line, we need him but we refuse to pay his price. Same as all other players that Marotta failed to sign.

I would've liked to have Lisandro here, but in the end Marotta opted not to pull the trigger due to the costs. I think that all things considered, it was a reasonable decision.

Buying Lisandro for 11m wouldn't have been a bad decision, though. But in my opinion, not buying him isn't worthy of heavy criticism due to Lisandro's age and him not being quite the player he used to be.

I don't appreciate all that recent panic-buy mood he has gone into. Get your game together Giuseppe. Anelka is not needed, and would have rather if he has given the opportunity to Gabbiadini or any other youngster with potential to prove himself. I don't like how Italian teams usually don't trust youngsters.
Italian teams trust their youngsters very much, they send them away to other clubs to play against them but with weird contract just to keep link to bring them back if they don't fail. Total trust and encouragement, it's healthy too. It worked with two players during the entire time Juve tried it. TWO players.

Love that gif :D

But yeah, Jack, definitely no surprise. Can't say I actually went around expecting to see LL in a Juve shirt. Other than in Mark's avatar, of course :p

As for Anelka ....

Well, The Great Man works in mysterious ways.
