I thought you're able to tell if we're going to win it or not this year, considering that you're one of those who already know that we're getting Anelka?
I don't know if we are getting Anelka, I just see it most likely to happen among all the other rumours. I see us as favourites for the title and we seem to be doing what is necessary for that but the current standing is not a title.

So you are in fact telling me what I think. My answer is the same as my reply.

I'm not sure where you are going with the whole Lisandro thing. I don't see Lisandro as being a similar transfer as that of Drogba or Anelka (low fee/loan, high wages). Lisandro requires a larger fee or at least loan with obligation to buy for a larger fee, if we listen to what Aulas says.
Do we need Lisandro or not? (question, notice the punctuation)

My point is simple. Winning Scudetto does not make him immune to criticism. We should ALWAYS aim higher.
I also think it is(when we're winning) exactly best time to criticize. But when you're losing it is easier to bash someone.
There are criticisms and then realistic expectations.

No we couldn't. Matri was a forced buy because all our other strikers were injured at the time. Furthermore, Matri + Quags wages can't even cover the 4.5mill Llorente wants, let alone a Falcao-type signing.
Yes and he saved us and helped us survive relegation as according to you this was our objective.

Yes. Vucinic was a failure. Giovinco, the guy you fucking chumps were fapping for a whole 2 years for, was a failure. Matri and Quag were failures, irrelevant if Matri was our top scorer last season and Quag is our top scorer in Europe. And yes, let's compare bench signings such as Toni, Borriello and Bendtner with the others.

Look, I don't have the energy nor do I care enough to post another reply. Just please, for once, try not to twist your opinions into facts.
So if we have such a wonderfull attack, why we are looking to upgrade it every single mercato, if you can't call signing Quag and Matri for a combined 34 mil a failure, talking how we are looking for Aguero, Sanchez and higuain and then getting Vucinic who eventough is a good player decides to show once every 2 months, getting the likes of Toni, Borriello, Bendtner and leting Trezeguet and Del piero go.

Failing to get our youngsters back ( Immobile, gabbiadini...), and altough he recognised that a striker is our main weakness fails to get one and invest in other areas where we are set. Then he gets another chance this mercato and he's bringing us Anelka :howler:

I really don't like the Anelka-signing, but my loyalty to the Great Man is as strong as ever.

It's gonna be painful to watch Anelka in the famous black and white shirt, but this is a short-term fix.

@JuveJay is absolutely spot-on when he says that big signings cannot be expected in January. The Lisandro-deal was very close, but in the end Marotta chose not to accept a 2m loan + an obligation to buy him outright for 9m. Considering that Lisandro's best days are behind him and that he's 30, that decision can definitely be justified.

Kudos also to the Great Man for bringing us Llorente on a free transfer.

What is unrealistic here? Matri + Martinez = 30 million. Add 10 more and here is your long waited top striker.
Well, firstly, you obviously don't understand wages or wage structure. Because you have to pay the player after you sign him. And they have to want to come here, which they might now, but not back then.

But my real point is that you are expecting a flawless performance. Have there been mistakes? Yes. Were they huge? No. Were they frequent? No. Did they stop us from achieving our goals? No.

So please, the fact that you can count his mistakes on one hand should be a good thing, not a bad thing.

So basically you are criticizing him because he's not PERFECT. Well..

Lisandro best days are behind him but the future is all bright for Anelka, cool story bro!

It's true that big signings in January are very rare but the opportunity knocked this time with Lisandro Lopez, maybe a half good that might work or fail (like any other). A player we really need, why not finish it?

I wonder what you would answer if I asked you what you THINK of Lopez not if we need him or not.
I have to have an opinion of him first. I'm not going to go with the masses and demand we sign him if I don't know his current level.

Right now we need a striker as we are one short for a long spell and others on and off. If you're asking whether we need Lisandro as he is the guy to score the goals then I'd say I don't know. Actually I don't think anyone knows that, but he has sufficient pedigree to be attractive.

Even if the deals with Lopez fell through, why is it necessary to go get someone like Anelka ?

The same pattern every time, we fail to get our first, second, or third option and Marotta saves the day with his brilliant signings ala Borriello, Bendtned and soon to be Anelka.

All of this goes down to his incompetence really, failing to get Immobile back :howler:

I would've liked to have Lisandro here, but in the end Marotta opted not to pull the trigger due to the costs. I think that all things considered, it was a reasonable decision.

Buying Lisandro for 11m wouldn't have been a bad decision, though. But in my opinion, not buying him isn't worthy of heavy criticism due to Lisandro's age and him not being quite the player he used to be.

Key point; teams like Man City, Real Madrid etc are shopping in the likes of Marks and Spencers or some other equivalent shopping market, while Marotta is hopping at Aldi.

Sure, the food may not look as appetizing, but god damn it you'll get fed
