This would be a step backward, in my opinion. Gilardino is over-rated and Abbiati is clumsy. Actually, comparing the latter to Buffon plus imagining him as our goalkeeper gives me a sensation that tomorrow wouldn't be that shiny.

Exactly. Even if he decides to leave, I'd respect him. He stayed with us in our greatest plight ever. Moreover, he was the first to show respect and commitment to Juventus. Comparing him to Cannavaro or Zambrotta, even if they return to us in the summer and Buffon leaves, I would still respect him more than both of them.
