Sky Sports paid him nicely for that piece. Bribing referees and controlling the media sounds a bit more dramatic than 'erm, well they sort of did things but everyone else did the same so I've no idea what this is all about'.

Vialli doing a fine job of harming his legend.

It is worse than I expected. Yesterday I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but he's basically gone for the safest option possible and not tried to stir up any fuss.

no, but vialli is supposed to be our legend and he just said $#@! things about us, didn't boniek do something quite similar and he was dropped off from being a legend?
I think Boniek was more critical of Juve than Vialli. In the sense that he had things to say as a pundit to reproach the club and the club didn't like that. With Vialli it doesn't look like he's attacking the club. He's talking to British media for one thing.

Don't really see too much controversy in what he said. He said what we were found guilty of doing. I'm sure he will have said more complementary things which are edited. The British media has no interest in that and will want the sensational side of the story.

In a time where the current Juventus is trying to look for balance and fairness, he really hasn't addressed that but instead made the club even worse to the international media by lying. I know he wasn't part of the club in the time responsible for Calciopoli but he owes a lot to Juventus so I think he should have painted a better picture of events, he knows his way around Calcio. He had no problem in calling out Zeman a few months ago for his energetic Pescara side.

If it was edited out then obviously that's not his fault, it doesn't look that way though.

He comes across as someone who has a poor grasp on the facts. He started out by saying that the club had gotten too powerful, which while it doesn't carry any legal content, is basically correct with respect to the ruling. But the club was never found guilty of fixing a single match or bribing a single referee.

Now I can well understand that the actual ruling, contrived as it sounds to us, would be even more baffling for the audience of this interview. But if you're going to be on tv as a pundit to explain an event and "bridge a culture gap" then it doesn't help to completely embellish the facts.
