I can't believe the reports of people in tears after that episode. For despicable, damaged, conniving people, the only fitting ending of that episode was very Burke:
Roy's plane nose-dives and crashes into Connor's wedding boat killing everyone in a giant fireball.
But I'll give the show some credit. After 3 seasons and 4 episodes of feigning any development on its main plot point, and the name of the show, it's finally forced to now.

You allways have cynical mode on lol I don't think its about sympathy for the principal characters Greg, but how authentic they performed that sudden shitty moment, unexpected and horrible moment for anyone.
I got quite emotional watching it, because I received news about my father in similar circumstances few years ago, brought that back watching their emotional performances. Especially Romans (my little brother was in denial of the news just like he was).
I felt for Roman and Shiv the most. Just breaking down like that. Kens reaction, besides on phone with Frank (and his walk to get Shiv), was bit subdued. But we all handle loss differently.
But that human moment didn't last as long as you would think, it didnt take long for a hint of the shitty power grab greed instincts got switched on with the writing of the memo to the board plays.
Amazing authentic acting all around. Like legit proper acting throughout the whole ordeal. Defenitely final season worthy type episode.high level writing to make you go through stages of griefs with these fucked up people.

Instead of this dumbass doing documentary on actual African Egyptian nubian rulers in the Peak of their history (let me guess, they don't have enough of a brand).
She does on one from Greek usurper family, when ancient Egypt was on its last legs, and claims she was African.

Americans know nothing at all about world history unless they pursue it themselves or through higher education. At least when I was going through the public k-12, in CA, anything interesting or of substance was scrubbed from the curriculum to make room for weird greivance politics some woman from 1700s or black cowboy had more pages in the texbook than the entirey of WW2

It doesn't make any sense. Ptolemaic dynasty was Greek/Macedonian line mixed with some Egyptian.
There were like 6 Female Pharaohs/Queens, they could chosen atleast 3 of the early ones that were black/nilotic or Nubian Egyptians. 1-2 who were mixed/brown Egyptians etc (the distinction shouldn't matter since they all Africans to me, but atleast different dynasties and geography for the empire).
Instead they go with the clearly Greek white one, who tho most famous (due to Roman angle, which is too well known, not interesting new topic for documentary), is by far the least powerful.
Could gone with Queen Tiye, or Hatshepsut who were way more powerful and interesting time periods, especially the latter. But to know them they actually need to open history book. And not get their history from popular culture only.

The characters are reprehensible though. Let's not kid ourselves. The sooner their kind would be erased from the world. the better.
But the acting is the draw. It's terrific. It's of course pretty hipster for actors to play damaged characters, and they've been given plenty to work with in that regard.
Sorry to hear about how things went down with your father. But that was one of the most redeemable parts of the episode: the writing for how uncertainty plays out and how people unassuredly react to it.
I will continue watching -- if nothing else but for the acting. Because the main plot hasn't advanced for over 3 seasons.
And you know Roy will come back to haunt plenty in the final episodes.
History is tricks we play on dead men. It's a bit like fashion. One year, flared pants are for dorks. The next year it's cool. We do that to historical figures all the time.
I think the most cheated on I feel about my history education in the U.S. is that I was goaded into believing that "ancient" peoples were savages and primitives. As I've gotten older, I've come to realize that modern man has forgotten more than they knew.
