It's great. I loved the first 3 episodes. Awesome atmosphere and aesthetic to the show. Then again, I've always been fascinated with the last years of the Weimar Republic in Germany.

Atmosphere and acting are great. Plot is a little convoluted and nonsensical at times, but I enjoyed it.

Yep I watch everything he does since Rome. He is fantastic in Altered Carbon, he has done his homework because he nails the mannerism of the book character.

I heard it wasn't very good from quite a few people.

Check out Babylon Berlin. It's fantastic so far, 10 episodes in.

I watched the first episode of Altered Carbon last night. I can't say I was blown out by it. It was decent but I expect a lot more tbh. I'll continue tonight but I can't say I look forward to it.

I wasn't blown away either, I watched two episodes but what I heard is that Netflix have invested a lot in the series, it's their most expensive production so things should change when the episodes start rolling. I will continue to see where it is going.

I watched 3 and that's my current opinion.

Btw, I think it's pathetic how much they over-used special effects and CGI. It's just horrible. The more the better? Meh.

They should learn from Jodorowsky in the future. It's really sad to see the most expensive show on Netflix turn out be be average. Money well spent my ass.

Haven't watched it yet, but too many shows and movies are getting ruinied by bad CGI.

Either you invest a shitload and make it look splendid, or, if you can't afford it, you use a good make up specialist instead.
The half assed cheap CGI is just horrible. The amount of good horror movies destroyed by bad CGI is ridiculous.
Especially indie movies should stick more to classic make up artists imo.
