These people are not just on Twiter anymore. They are influential now in the corporate world, media, academia and the government.

They don't have to be a majority or the most powerful individuals to cause a lot of damage.

They are the dominant culture, what you believe is irrelevant.

Has there been any meaningful legislation passed to support this that perhaps I'm unaware of? Anything concrete besides something that ultimately is wildly inconcequential or theater? We don't have a public healthcare option, can't get an infrastructure bill passed, we still have well-funded police departments, can't agree on "clean energy" bills, housing is exactly the same as it has been for decades, no big tax code changes, still have the same immigration policies as usual, still have a huge military industrial complex, etc. And those aren't even super far-left for the most part. But we DO have Pelosi and Schumer wearing Kente cloth on the Senate floor that one time, which came to nothing at the end of the day of course, because of course it wouldn't. Even the media posterchild for these people and maybe most powerful in AOC is almost hated by the self-professed communists that I know that would support the bullshit in the video, because she's seen as ingenuine or not extreme enough by them. Next time I see something like this, I'll have to remember to screenshot it to post here. You should see the China shilling, it's baffling.

And what will these people do to change any of this? Nothing. Not a damn thing but complain on social media. There used to be shootings and bombings from people that supported this same stuff 50 years ago, now there are just angry social media posts 99.9% of the time.

I don't agree with putting "print media" and social media on the same level, they are entirely different animals. One is controlled and pushed by a few companies, the other is mob rule. But to your last point, I bet you Twitter doesn't even exist by the time I have kids old enough to be using social media.

What you speak of is one institution, there is the entertainment, academia, the press... And they are under the yoke of what you call angey liberal twitter mobs. Even the political institution that you mentioned has 100% been infiltrated by cultural marxist when the white house uses pronouns and requires anti-racism brainwashing. You have a military that is more concerned with pilot suits for pregnant women and appeasing BLM than to actually do its job in Afghanistan. The culture war is done and dusted. I watched Chappelle's The Closer on Netflix the other day. Sadly, he seems like he's just so over it all. He talked about a trans comedian he knew who opened a show for him, then killed herself a few weeks later, possibly because she was being targeted by anti-Chappelle folks. I don't know how much more he has left in the tank to deal with some of these shitheads. Just idiocy on all sides.

And I get the protection of minority opinion. Edward Snowden makes this point about privacy all the time: it's only dangerous if you don't follow the herd ... and the herd decides you're inconvenient. Then they have something to string you up for.

But language gymnastics to constantly send recognition to every letter in a LGBTQIIAXYZ+ is beyond exhausting. Every conversation can't hit a hard stop because we left out the polyamorous pansexual Tuvaluan amputee with seal flippers who is allergic to chocolate.

Worse, there are a lot of people who are socially tortured and even murdered because of personal characteristics that don't fit tidy grievance categories. See: any fat kid with thick glasses who has trouble making friends, but somehow their social torture isn't legitimate. The root of any diversity and inclusion program really just needs to be "don't be an a**hole".

Because that's the problem. It's not pronouns, Chapelle jokes, or not seeing my species fluidity recognized in a public address.

This determinism is exactly the problem today.

Cultural Marxism and critical theory are school of thought that have existed for decades and have many academic proponents on the left and critics on the right.
The simple fact that some right wingers/ Alt-right use the term, whether correctly or not, to combat what you see as social progress does not make social Marxism a hoax or a figment of the imagination.

Your other statement that this progressive movement is entirely performative in nature is also incredibly naïve. While it may not yet threten "imperialists/capitalist" society as you put it, it certainly started to threaten the merit based society
