After netting almost £30m in the last week through player sales, Juventus are ready to spend some of that cash on reinforcements for the new campaign.

Boss Didier Deschamps has admitted that the club are looking to sign at least three players following the mass exodus of footballing talent after the club’s demotion to Serie B.

After waving goodbye to Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Lilian Thuram and packing Patrick Vieira’s bags, the Coach is preparing to welcome some new faces.

Reports in Italy on Saturday suggest that a primary objective for the scandal-hit giants is Monaco youngster Gael Givet.

Born in 1981, Deschamps believes that the Frenchman is the ideal candidate to replace Cannavaro in the centre of defence
.

Deschamps is a massive fan of the stopper after coaching him with success during his time on the Principality bench.

The Bianconeri, facing up to life in the Second Division, are apparently ready to bid around £5m for the 25-year-old.

It’s unclear at this stage whether Monaco would agree to a sale seeing as his present agreement doesn’t expire until June 2009.

He's one of the best young defenders in the French league currently, played a few caps for the national team but nowhere near Gallas or Thuram. He's captain of Monaco, quite charismatic and spirited.

Your talking like Juve are going to stay in Serie B for a long time. Be realistic! Young exciting talent would love to join Juve now. We have time to give these youngsters there chance.

Look long term ReBel! Your still thinking like Capello. :disagree:

You don't pronounce the T. The "et" sounds like the e in "text".
The G sound is typically french. couldn't find an exemple in English

No, that's not good. Like Geof said, the Givet part is hard to explain in English. But there is no 'ay' at the end, that's a mistake. It's a simple 'e', like Geof said.
