If the results are not disastrous in the next period stay put. If not, go all in on Zidane and then poch if you fail to persuade Zizou, otherwise it’s not worth it mid season.

The coach has to speak Italian. Whether he is put in place 6-12 months before or they have a crash course over pre-season, whatever, they can come from Zanzibar or wherever, but they have to have a grasp of Italian early in the season.

Doesn't at all mean they have to be Italian or Serie A-experienced, but there is an inevitable learning curve for anyone coming into the league. That's the same for most leagues.

Why would Mancini leave Italy at this time? And if he does, then who would replace him as a national team coach? Allegri?
Given that we wont be going to the world cup this year, there's not much for him to do until 2024. Plenty of time for them to find a replacement.
As for who will be replacing him? Perhaps Ancelotti when he finishes at Real, although he has said in the past that he will probably retire once his contract is up. Another candidate is Cannavaro, apparently...
As for Allegri I'm not sure the FIGC would take a bet on someone who got fired twice by juve. Jihadball is also well acquainted in Italy, so I doubt it would be a popular move.
