Cancer is such a hell of a disease -- the inhumane treatments, the getting sick to get better, the repetition and exhaustion of treatments, and how it not only afflicts those with the disease but also everyone around them. If there's a silver lining to that experience -- having lost my mother-in-law to cancer a couple years ago -- it's that it sometimes gives you time to make things right and say your goodbyes the way you'd like to.
It's a hard, transformative journey. But best wishes for grace throughout all that.
