Cassano: 'I'm Messi, but crazy...'
Friday 21 August, 2009

The Sampdoria starlet is well known for his gregarious approach to life and sport, which can also spill out into temper tantrums that have wrecked his career at Roma and Real Madrid.

“If I had [teammate Angelo] Palombo’s brain, then in the whole world the only one who could beat me would be Leo Messi. He is the greatest.

“Unfortunately I cannot change my crazy head and after all these years not even my mother knows what’s going on in there.”

This is also the main reason why Cassano has been left out of the Italy squad, but he laughed it off by referencing the recent row between Lippi and Inter boss Mourinho.

“I am the only one who can get those two to agree on something – neither of them want me! I’d be happy even if Lippi called me at the last minute.

“I’d love to play for the Nazionale and have always been open to it. When Italy play, I suffer too as I watch and experience it all.

“I have never had the chance to talk to Lippi, but I have never had problems with him. His decisions are dictated by his own reasons and they must be respect. What else can I say?”

Yet this wild child persona is also what gives FantAntonio is incredible creativity and talent.

“I need to play as far up the field as possible. They need to give me the ball and then I’ll invent something, depending on what goes through my mind at that moment.”

Last season Genoa won both derbies for the first time in decades and finished in fifth place, humiliating their local rivals.

“Samp have lost a strong defender like [Hugo] Campagnaro, but we are targeting the top half of the table and hope to overcome tough times with hard work and a bit of luck.

“Last year we lost two derbies and gave someone weaker than us the opportunity to enjoy something after 10 years of failure…”

Today Inter President Massimo Moratti confirmed he has always admired Cassano, but never actually entered negotiations to sign him.

“I thank Moratti for his kind words, but I have always said I wanted to stay at Sampdoria. I’m happy here and do not feel pegged in by the club, I’m not interested in winning or even playing in the Champions League.

“All I care about is making the fans happy and proving in every game that I am a great player.”

LOL this awesome mofo is too funny, hehe. And call me crazy, and it may not make sense because it isnt a priority, but I hope we sign him next season.
gotta like the guy, these kind of statements and the way he pokes their biggest rival are

lol

but I didn't discuss any transfers that goal.com said ?

All I said was they predicted juve to reach the CL final ? Is that not allowed too ?

:snoop:
But no one said that transfer news from goal.com are not allowed, the announcement clearly says that anything from goal.com is not allowed. It's that simple.

I`m not too impressed by Cassano
Suarez and Rossi are more impressive IMO
Don't agree with that, cassano IMO is more talented than both. He always was great ever since he started playing with bari as a 17 year old kid. One game will always stand in my mind was Bari vs Lazio. Back then Lazio were one of the best teams in europe, he managed to dribble 4-5 players in a couple of moves. Seeing a 17 year old doing that to a top class players is just incredible.

To say he isnt as impressive is some say is one thing, to compare him to Suarez is laughable (good player, but dont get carried away, not in Cassano's level). Rossi isnt as good as him either, and Rossi himself would tell you that.

Well I personally think that Cassano is overated
Rossi is very young doesn`t score much but still an intresting player
Suarez is still unproven on the big stage but he is very impressing

Cassano was a great player when he was 17 he made some amazing things I remember his Bari days and I always wanted to see him sign for us then he signed for Roma and I expected more from him then Real came knocking cause they need every big name player there he did nothing now he is with Sampdoria impressing again I agree he is a great player but I wouldn`t say I want us to sign him as I think there are other players who could be a better signing than him
Suarez impressed me alot and I think he could be one of the best in his role if he continues like that.
How old Suarez is by the way?

He is 22, and I agree with you on both Suarez and Rossi, and Cassano isnt a must signing, but he is simply put BETTER then both and is a great player.
