its also about revenue potential as well. these leagues have financial models and forecasts just like any other business and the better a league stands at turning out a revenue for an upcoming fiscal period, the more it will benefit those under its umbrella.
And that is where teams that own their own stadiums have a distinct advantage.
THEY are the ones that control everything, and have the wherewithall to give the paying consumer an experience, one that will make them want to come back. Yes, in the end it is all about the product on the field, but if you walk into a staidum that has a great atmosphere, amenities that suit your needs, a feeling of safety and security, a REASON to want to come back, then you are much better off in the long run.

Seriously, I take a look at some of these Serie A stadiums, and I wouldn't even let a high school team play there, never mind a professional squad. Its jsut fucking dreadful
