Instead of kicking the shit out of Messi, Inter better concentrate on Xavi. They'll stand more chances of doing something if they stop the Spaniard from getting the ball to Messi at all.

Inter just reached the semifinals in Champions League and we're won't even make the CL next season.

Who the hell would've believed that a few years back?

I think Inter have the advantage actually.
why jack? both teams on paper have equally good player the only upper hand is messi in barca's case who i think can be contained lets not forget arsenal tonight missed out on a proper cb in galas who i think would've done better than silvestre in shutting down messi at least in the final third of arsenals side of the pitch.

yeah that would really work, xavi is the brain in this barca side followed by inesta. another possible threat is barca's ride side to be honest they creat chaos if given space and are not pressed on at all times.

I know. Neither is Muntari. I chose him because he likes to get stuck in, he's well built, he usually plays left midfield, and thus is close to Messi (who likes to drop deep), and giving Muntari a purely defensive role doesn't lower Inter's potency on the counter. The prick quality is just something extra for the cameras :D
    I think Muntari is useless.

I would just play Zanetti or Santon against Messi.

I don't understand why more teams don't man mark Xavi.

That might work if Barca plays with only one of Xavi/Iniesta. If Barca plays them both, I can't see Inter stopping them both (especially when Messi likes to drop deep and help them).

what did you expected?...i'm glad barca had a strong D...puyol wasn't missed.
You cannot defend like they did at this stage of the competition it's schoolboy erros.

I think Arsene Wenger needs to concede his team is not good enough to win anything and move onto bigger and better things. The same old excuses of were to young and developing does not cut it. 5 years without a trophy going ont 6? thats very poor for a manager who is rated so highly.

With a makeshift defense that had us play our fifth choice centerback there was no way we were ever going to stop Messi, who proved once again that he is heads and shoulders above any player in the world right now.

Hypothetically though, if they didn't have Messi today like we were missing Van Persie, Cesc and Arshavin. Would they have won today's game? I think we might have went out on away goals, but definitely we wouldn't have lost by a 3 goal margin

disastre...i mean silvestre vs messi...do the maths. They will not beat the shit out of inter i'm sure of that just because mou will play with a strong defense. Imo one of the most important things is which one will play at home in the 2nd leg. Oh and if messi is fit, all my money goes on barca.

Santon is a risk due to his age and supposedly injured for the rest of the season. Zanetti isn't a bad idea, but I'd rather play him at left back, have Muntari man mark Messi with Zanetti backing Muntari up.

Because Barca has two playmakers, man marking one means more space for the other. And if you manage to mark them both out, they still have Messi who'll drop into the midfield and do the job himself.

Barca are at home in the second leg.
