Cut the coefficient argument. If all of you cared about the coefficient you'd have supported Inter too.
I'm not sure who you're addressing here, but I for one hope that all Italian teams go as far as possible, in both the CL & the EL. I'd like to think that I'm objective enough to look at the bigger picture here.

That doesn't necessarily mean I'll support one or more of those teams though. Since we're out of the CL, I really don't give a damn who's gonna end up winning the thing (just as long as it isn't Barca :D).
Same goes for the EL. Once we're out of that competition, I couldn't care less who's going to win it.

Just look at Juve's current situation with injuries and you'll see how much difference this new schedule makes.

If we were in CL and we had to play our CL match today or tomorrow, we were gonna be without Trez, Camo, Iaquinta and maybe even Marchisio who isn't match fit yet. But if we played next Wednesday (as Inter play, for example) we would have all these guys back.

But with the old system, where all the matches were gonna be played this week, we were gonna be without Camo and co.

It's just luck, so it could be better or be worse.

Do you really want my honest opinion?

UEFA did that for the sole reason of more TV money and thus makes football even more commercial than it already is. Of course for entertainment they have achieved their goal but in the long run they are still killing small teams and pumping up big teams.
    Couldn't agree more here.

What if we were to play next week with Camo, Trez and Iaquinta are to return but in our league game we lose Diego, Del Piero and Chiellini for injury? You would have wished we played this week.

As you said, it could be better or worse thus irrelevant to the argument.

I think that argument is somehow irrelevant as it's the schedule and the injuries that decide that whichever way you twist it around.
Yes, I know. It wasn't even an argument. I just said that for the teams it will be a question of luck with the schedule and injuries, as it always was, so for them this new system won't change anything drastically.

This is why UEFA did it without even consulting anyone. They know what they're doing, more Heineken, more Playstation, more Mastercard.

Btw, it's been probably said here already, but will this continue for the quarters?

I guess not since there won't be enough rest for some teams between the quarters and the semis, but you never know with UEFA :)

If UEFA is making more $ from this new schedule than how much of this new income are they passing to the competing teams?
    http://www.eufootball.biz/finance/7847-uefa_champions_league_distribution_plan.html

"The estimated television market pool amount of EUR 337.8 million will be disbursed based on a model of proportional value of the TV market of each of the clubs participating from the group stage. Within any given national association, the monies will be shared between its participating clubs based on the clubs' performances during the previous domestic league season and in proportion to the number of matches that each of the clubs manages to play in the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League."

It depends on how many matches they play. That's why when people cheer for Milan, they focus only on the coefficient and deliberately forget the amount of money they'll cash in.

I personally cheer for all Serie A teams, exclusively except our Milanese bromigos :yuck: They're the only teams I consider Juve rivals, and you just don't cheer for rivals. I would somehow understand if one was Italian himself, but come on... screw 'em both. They would NEVER support us, never.

Part of me wants Viola to knock Bayern out since I appreciate Prandelli as Juve player and an excellent coach with unique tactics , but I can't forget those are the same Viola that their fans alway sing about the 39 dead in 1985 mocking us and cheer for Liverpool when they play us. So F Viola and their fans. I hope Bayern Whoop their butts and make an example out of them like Man utd did to Roma before.
