Please explain how it's getting worse everyday.
Jus look at how messy it is... No one uses the search feature (or even for their basic questions the 30 secs google takes)... They'ld rather start the 45th thread on the same topic...

The ever increasing off topic posts in every single thread.

Ther is not one real debate about football on this forum at this time...

99% of football related threads are either off topic, or single word answers followed by insults... there is next to no discussion...

Things that should really be sticky in the likes of the rookie section, so that members can find them easily as they are regularly asked are hard to find... as such leading to numerous threads on the same subject...

People feel a need to post every article on juve they see in the press as a new topic... even when there are allready threads on the subject or you have posted them in the article bit...

All these volunteers that stepped forward when you arrived with there ideas that they were gonna maintain have dissapeared... none of these ideas were maintained...

The forum is shaping into one large msn chat at the moment rather than the football forum it is supposed to be...

And of course as jack mentioned that many of the forums top longterm posters have either walked away or hardly contribute anymore...

Etc etc etc

Maybe i expect too much as i know what this forum used to be... and with being here since virtually day one... i do find it saddening to know that even though i havent been a regular here for a long time now , a forum i played my part in shaping has started to drop to what it is becoming

I agree with Paul here...even back in May and June this forum was in better shape than it is today, and that is probably because we had better members posting more regulary. Posters such as Paul, Martin, Erik, Dominic, Erkka (despite being very unpleasant), and others were posting far more often, and even people such as Emma (offtopic obviously), Jaecole and Claire added a lot to the forum. Hell, the latter two knew more about football than a lot of people here. However, the latter two were banned and despite their actions to become banned they still added a lot. Not to mention Seven who added something even though he was always stirring up trouble. The falling quality of this forum can easily be drawned down to the mass exodus and banning of certain posters, and this is surely not good to see.

I also strongly feel that the develepment of an arcade and this vBookie function has taken quite a lot away from the actual posts on this forum, as obviously people have limited time to access this place and when there are other distractions from posting...of course the actual posts will take a hit. This is supposed to be primarly a discussion forum for Juventus...not anything else. Moreover, all of this nonsense about reputation and people asking for it all the time has perhaps also led to this nonsensical posting.

Just my two sense, however that is the way I see it.

thats what was wrong with zlatan imo. you were annoying as a mod, but people always respected you. then again, you very even better when you were kings of off topic with erik
don't.... you'll make me cry as well. Those OT days were the best :touched:

I agree totally with paul's post. I actually think maybe the best way to do this would be set up some kind of urgent issues task force of "senior" members, give those people a new subforum where only they can post and let them get to grips with whats the problem and what needs changing etc. If things can be agreed by a majority they could then be implemented (after marty ratifies them) and the forum should really improve

Participation in this thread is enough reason for you to realize that there are people interested in helping out.

Perhaps true, but I've learnt that talking is easy. :) I mean it's easy to say fix this and fix that but not wanting to do any work yourself. Not saying any of you are like that though.

I was just looking for confirmation if people are really interested in making an effort.

You know what, in a strange way I think I've just rediscovered my enthusiasm for this place. Count me in, if any of you think my input is of any value I'd be more than willing to help sort things out

Though as someone has said, I don't think there are really all that many issues to solve. As long as prominent posters from all "sides" are involved in the process we should be able to avoid confrontation

ps jeeks for mod

That's a good post, and I agree. To be honest, I do not see any alternatives because its quite easier to slide down a hill than to climb it.

Jeeks and Tom for mod then? :)
eer.. wooah I don't think that would be a good idea. New era, new faces etc.. I don't think going back to having me as mod would be doing anyone any favours.. in fact quite the opposite - there would probably be a mass walkout/protest.

I'm happy to help out as best I can but not in that role :)

See.. i have an issue here...

No offence, but as ive experienced before... in many cases where someone puts up a suggestion or criticises an aspect of the forum... You make a comment like this, rather than jus asking... If you want something... Ask for it... I'm sure there are many here that are willing...

Above all and imo before anything else you need to sort out an adequate mod staff... Very few of the current ones are active and many wouldnt know who they are if they were... Plus there isnt enough of them... I know forums half this size that have 3 times the number of mods... they run perfectly... Im not saying you need loads... Jus a decent number to be able to manage the place and that are active... you also have to look at the mods regularly... If they have slowed their posting they must be replaced...

On top of that you need a proper set of enforced rules with as tom suggested something akin to a 3 and out policy...

If new moderaters are implemented they must not be voted on in terms of a popularity contest. Its important to have moderators that even things out a bit and have been part of this forum for quite a while. Personally, Black Mamba and Paul have my vote.

I'll take the job on two conditions, Seven comes back with a final chance and snoop gets hired as a bookmaker.

And if Tom does not want the job, I suggest Paul, Black Mamba or Fliakis for the role.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean, all I did was to ask if people are interested in helping getting the forum back on its feet.

Of course not...that is why it should be up to Marty himself and not the calls of the entire populus. However, if suggestions are being taken of course I'm going to give mine.

Thats the point Marty... you dont tend to ask... You make seeking comments... Rather than jus asking...

If you came out and said things straight... Your Requests wouldnt go unnoticed by many...
