“There were around 10 names that we sought out to replace Hernanes, but they all rejected us. Juventus had a few players who were of interest to us and they all said no,” revealed Reja.

“It’s true, we asked for Sebastian Giovinco, but nobody wanted to come to Lazio. We were a bit upset. At the end, Jonathan Biabiany seemed to be a done deal, but evidently he was happy where he was at Parma.
Who says Quagliarella was one of those names? He only mentions Giovinco.

'Juventus had a few players who were of interest to us and they all said no'

Only Quag and Gio were in the affordable range for them in terms of wages. And they were looking to sign a striker.

Yes, they looked at Vidal instead.

They even mentioned Giovinco in the same sentence. They clearly weren't looking at our midfielders.
Are Gio and Quag the same type players? Gio if anything Is closer to Hernanes than Quag is. He's gone on to specify Giovinco, and not mentioned Quag. When you consider that Biabiany was there next preference, you can again see, even he isn't similar to Quag. They were looking at a different type of player. Quag to me would be a replacement for Klose.

1. Quag has been linked with them alot this transfer window.

2. So if he doesn't mention him? Do you expect him to mention all 10. He only mentioned 2.

3. "Juventus had a few players who were of interest to us". Had a few? That means more than 2 players. Who other than Giovinco and Quag do you think they would realistic get?

Biabiany to replace Hernanes.
And Giovinco. :D

They WERENT looking to replace Hernanes. They WERENT looking to sign another midfielder. They wanted a striker/forward.They have Ederson,Candreva and Felipe Anderson who could all play Hernanes' position.

And Giovinco. :D
Coz there's a chance he couldn't lay stick on the club for not having the ability to close the deal, since they wanted him on loan and weren't willing to pay Juve the 7-8m.

You wanted him to say: Boateng, Giovinco, Biabany, Quag, gfhfg, 5546, fgngn, sthtgdh, sthsdfg and shgfdg rejected us?

Why didn't he mention all 10 players?
Maybe coz they aren't as known to the media. It would've only helped his cause to specify and appease the fans that Gio, Quag, Pogba, Vidal (lol) etc were all considered since they were selling Hernanes. Arguably the best player. Theres a good chance that they didn't have a list of 10 players and he was specific about the ones that actually said no.

He was specific about Boateng, Giovincomand Biabiany. Could've easily given the names they were talks with, but they really didn't have many more. Seeing as they ended up with Kakuta. Lol.

As in not a direct Hernanes replacement..See Biabiany.

But its absolutely true that they were looking at a striker too side by side and in the end they signed Postiga.

I defended Quag up until now but he really should have left this window. If the club informed him he's not going to play he should take the first train to Roma and go. He'd be starter for Lazio considering Klose was on his way out.

Reja said he wanted our forwards (Gio, Quag, Vucinic) and they all rejected Lazio. I can understand why Vucinic didn't want to go there but the other two are pulling Amauri on us :sergio:

But they weren't after another midfielder, especially our own midfielders.

He specifically said "Juventus players". Notice the "s". Plural. Giovinco and Vidal? Pirlo?

Quag accepted them though.
