When u see quag style, u realize he has proper technique to be a forward, he has good speed and also knows how to finish scoring chances with his feet and head.
IMO, the talent is there for us to use. If we end seling matri and fail to sign a fox-in-box striker..... ill not be surprised if conte transforms quags into our finisher and im pretty sure he will excel at it, asumming that we get jovetic and stay with gio and vucinic.

I have no doubts about it.

Its not about the 2 goals that Giovinco scored more that separates them. Its the other part of Giovinco's game that offers the team 11 assists on top of those goals.
Please also tell me how many more minutes of game time he got to get those numbers? That's right, pretty much a full season. They're playing for the same team now. Let's see how that plays out before jumping the gun and dismissing somebody the way you do.

Who cares how many minutes Seba got? Quag is NOT CAPABLE of performing on that part of the game, full season or not. He's not an 11 assists a season type of player and has never been close, even with better players surrounding him. You know how many assists Quag had last season? ZERO. You know how many he had the year before? 2.

In 4 seasons, since Quag's last season with Udinese in 08/09 until now, Quag has 11 assists combined in total in the league, the same amount Giovinco got just this last season.

And do you want to know how many assists Giovinco has had since the 08/09 with much less playing time(since you like playing the small amount of playing time card) and being a complete bench player? 20.

Lol. You keep referring to last season like it was a yardstick at all. Let me give you a similar instance. Gio at Juve in 08/09 got about 5 starts and returned at with 1 goal and 1 assist. Does that paint a picture for the entire season? No it doesn't. It's exactly how you're judging Quag right now if you think he contributed nothing all of last season.

The same applies to the season before. I don't know what you're pea-cocking that about, because if you want to go there, Quag in less than half a season returned with stats of 9 goals and the 2 assists that you mentioned. But what did Giovinco do getting that FULL season? One entire assist more than Quag! 3 assists. And 2 goals less, at 7 goals. Wow. But yea, he's world class. Like I said your logic when proclaiming somebody to be world class and dismissing another with such arrogance, is truly truly appalling.

In 4 seasons, since Quag's last season with Udinese in 08/09 until now, Quag has 11 assists combined in total in the league, the same amount Giovinco got just this last season.
Again, how you count these as 4 seasons I'll never know. The last season and the half season injury lay off before that were hardly game seasons for him or any player in his place. I just want to point out what I said above, a fit and fine Quag got more goals than Gio, and 1 less assist in less than half the time. This season, to compare a player whose played 36 games with one who couldn't even play 5 full ones, is baseless.

Do you have any idea how hard it is coming off a career threatening injury? Remember Gigi last to last year, he was miserable, people wanted Storari in his place. Look at him this past season. Back to his best. Remember Alex post injury? The year he couldn't score from open play. 16 penalties I think it was under Ancellotti. A lot of players struggle psychologically to find their feet and rhythmn again.

And do you want to know how many assists Giovinco has had since the 08/09 with much less playing time(since you like playing the small amount of playing time card) and being a complete bench player? 20.
Much less playing time? I'm sorry what?? Te only time Gio didn't play was his 09/10 spell at Juventus. At Parma, he has started 28 games last season, and 36 games this season, so yes, I would definitely like you to consider the playing time card.

And even if you choose to dismiss that. Here are the stats for your reference.

Giovinco had 4 goals and 7 assists in 08/09.
Quag had 13 goals and 4 assists in 08/09. (21 goals if we include Europe but let's not go there.)

Giovinco had 1 goal and 1 assist in 09/10.
Quag had 11 goals and 5 assists in 09/10.

Giovinco had 7 goals and 3 assists in 10/11. (28 games)
Quag had 9 goals and 2 assists in 10/11. ( played 17 games.)

Giovinco had 15 goals and 12 assists in 11/12. (36 games)
Quag had 4 goals and 0 assists in 11/12. (played less than 5 full games I think)

The stats are in front of you. My intent is not to compare the two players for their positions on the pitch. It is to question how you think one player is legendary while the other is absolute garbage. I think Quag will have a part to play in this team next year. He just needs to stay fit, and you can see he will be more than useful. All I ask is, please take of your rose tinted glasses when crowning certain players and berating others.

This is pointless. You just wrote so much and I have no idea what you've come up with. All I hear is injury this, full season that, he will do this and that while constantly pointing to things he did more than 2 years ago. You could probably make any case for Quag if you wanted to.

We should just stop the Quag - Giovinco comparisons. Gio is a potential #10 for us and seems like he's will be a given a big role for the team while Quag is our 5th striker. They are on completely different stages in their careers and Giovinco is just starting and just came of a fantastic season while Quag is declining.

I don't think Giovinco is legendary, I'm just a fan excited about what Giovinco has become and what he can become with all that potential he has got.

I'm making stuff up now? Lol. The numbers are in front of you. But as usual, you choose to do and say what's convenient when faced with the facts. Forget the entire argument of Gio vs Quag. I'm really sorry but you're going to be disappointed if you think he's going to be 5th choice here. Good luck coming to grips with that, and the fact that Gio is anything but #10. I'd give the shirt to Marchisio before Giovinco.
But stay excited. Peace.

Where did I say you made things up?

And the numbers are right in front of me and all I see is a player coming off a season with 15 goals and 11 assists while another player has been stinking it up for a while now. And even during his peak, he still never managed to score more than 13 goals. The stats you just posted are for 4 seasons in the ages between 21-25 for one player while the other player was in his best years 25-29.

If you can't see the difference between Giovinco and Quag then I can't really help you. But try watching both of them play and see with your own eyes who the more dominant player is. Only would you would there be a discussion about Quag being more useful than Giovinco in 2012.

And whatever this unnecessary discussion brought to the table, its still doesn't make 2012/2013 Quag any better or will take him back to his old form where he scored those amazing 13 goals. He won't get that time ahead of Vucinic, Giovinco, Matri and a potential new striker anyway.

Arguing about Giovinco with Suns is just as pointless as arguing about Quag with baggio.

And curiously enough, they're now going to head to head about these very subjects. I think we just witnessed the start of an infinite loop :touched:
